Its capital is Brno, the 2nd largest city in the Czech Republic. The region has 1,169,000 inhabitants and the total area of 7,196.5 km². It is bordered by the South Bohemian Region , Vysočina Region , Pardubice Region , Olomouc Region , Zlín Region , Slovakia and Austria .
