How to wear a Kira - Bhutanese Women's Ethnic Wear
The kira is an ankle length woven and unstitched fabric dress worn by Bhutanese women. First, one puts on the wonju or the long sleeve blouse and the kira is wrapped around the body. The pair of brooches are commonly known as Koma. The ends are then pinned at both shoulders with the help of koma. They are of traditional design and have intricate patterns.
The kiras for men and women are different in style as men's kiras have simpler design and are comprised of fewer colours in the weave.
Then comes the tego, the long sleeve blouse and short jacket worn over the kira. Dhopchhu is the traditional Bhutanese style bracelet. The bracelet in the video is of an antique design made of gold and silver with turquoise in it.
Rachu, with different intricate designs, is worn by Bhutanese women with a Kira. Wearing the rachu and kabney is essential in any official place or in a place of worship, as it signifies respect by the wearer.

NATIONAL TRUST - (ATTINGHAM PARK SHROPSHIRE)
NATIONAL TRUST HOUSE AND WOODLAND SHROPSHIRE
The Golden Triangle Of Cheshire
I recently found out that the garden of my old family home had been sold off to builders. Our first dog was buried in that garden and this really effected me, In my own opinion without prejudice something bad is really happening to these three areas of Cheshire. Beautiful traditional old houses are being knocked down to make way for vulgar mock mansions!! Even our precious greenbelt has been earmarked for the development of Business parks and more office space.... I find this incredibly sad after living in this area for more than forty years!!
Quarry Bank Mill - The National Trust
Built in 1784, the Quarry Bank Mill in Cheshire, England, is one of the best preserved mills of the industrial revolution, an era which changed the face of Britain and the world. The Quarry Bank Mill, which is now a museum of the cotton industry, is considered one of the most important early textile manufacturing communities in England and, because of Britain’s pioneering role that it had in industrialization, it is considered one of the most important mills in the world.
