Paleis Het Loo is a 300 years old palace in Apeldoorn, The Netherlands. The palace was a residence of the House of Orange-Nassau. Since 1984, the palace is a state museum open for the general public. Next to the beautiful palace are the absolutely stunning gardens. The best way is to see it from above. We took our drone for a birds eye view.

Hotel planes are a pilot’s dream and one of the first items on a world traveler’s to-do-list. This plane in particular is over 40 meters in length and stationed at Teuge airport, giving you a great view of the run way. It was first built in 1960 and has historical significance, having been used as a government plane for DDR dogs.
Besides sleeping in a plane converted into a hotel room, you can also book a plane tour, helicopter tour, and take a flying lesson. If that’s too scary, try jumping out of a plane on a parachute!
Inside the plane, you can expect luxurious amenities like a Jacuzzi, infrared sauna, mini-bar and over with microwave. It’s something better than first class, and they even greet you with a tasty welcoming package. Its convenient location also puts you close to the Veluwe nature reserve or Bussloo and Thermen Bussloo, a spa resort.
2. 727 Fuselage Home - Costa Verde
A shining example of what creativity and recycling can achieve, the hotel owners rescued this 1965 Boeing 727 from a rusty airport graveyard and placed it in the Jungle canopy by the beautiful Costa Rican coastline. The team cut it into pieces and transported it by truck and crane to where it now sits, gazing out over the warm ocean waters. Oh, and technically, I don’t think you can join the mile high club as the plane is only 50 ft from the ground. Good to know. However, you do get amazing views and the chance to relax on the balconies that rest on each wing. The suite is 2 bedrooms and although it looks like the plane has made a crash landing, inside it contains all the luxury you can expect from this unique and unusual hotel.
3. STF Jumbo Stay Stockholm, Arlanda, Sweden
For those of you who have not spent enough time crammed into Jumbo Jets, trying to rub the feeling back into your twisted legs, craving for the blackout of sleep but unable to relax because you are stuck in a rigid position while your ears are deafened by the constant roar of the engines, this is for you. To be fair, they have done an excellent job of recycling this old Jet into a modern and comfortable hostel. It is light on the wallet and definitely an unusual experience. It is grounded in Stockholm airport, mounted on concrete blocks, its wheels dangling forlornly in the cold air as if a reminder of happier times…
4. Singapore Airline Suites
You’ve got business class, world traveler class, first class, premium class; well this must be called super awesome class. Yes, in fact that is what I’m calling it from now on. So take a ride in Singapore Airline’s new ‘Super Awesome Class’. * Let’s start with your leather armchair, it is handmade by Poltrona Frau and reclines to a comfortable bed-position. Or you could just book a suite with a bed and an armchair. Your entertainment system is a 23-inch LCD TV; I just hope they provide decent quality headphones… I’m sure they do. Food-wise, if you imagine a luxury restaurant in the sky then you are not far from the truth – it’s all designer tableware and vintage Pinot Noir.
5. Woodlyn Park Motel, Waitomo Caves, Waikato, New Zealand
For much of last century Woodlyn Park was a farm but today it is an educational centre and family fun park with some unique accommodation. Before we get onto that, it is worth mentioning Billy Black’s Kiwi Culture Show where you get a sheep-shearing, cow-riding, wood-chopping experience of Kiwi life. The Hobbit Motel is a string of rooms built into a hillside which look very similar to the fantasy home of Mr Frodo. Each unit accommodates up to six people and has a bathroom and kitchenette.
6. Hotel Vueling Bcn by HC, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain
The Hotel Vueling BCN is a combination airport and airplane accommodation with 63 reserved rooms, as well as an ambiance that amateur pilots and travelers will love. The area called “La Terminal” offers gourmet cuisine and décor inspired by world destinations like London, Paris and Casablanca. Other amenities include a gym, a swimming pool, a bar and a massage service. Despite the airport theme, individual rooms are of hotel quality and feature artistic paintings, comfy beds and excellent fabrics for a good night’s sleep.

MEET the smoking hot helicopter pilot in training who shares her glamorous lifestyle with nearly sixty thousand Instagram followers.
Breath-taking images show brunette bombshell, Luana Torres (27), also known as Pilot Luana, from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, taking off in her chopper, posing on the runway and making a final check of her controls. Other envy-inducing shots show the stunner at Disneyland and relaxing at Arizona’s Horseshoe Bend.
Incredible cockpit video footage shows Luana, who is also an economics graduate, setting off on her nerve-wracking first solo flight and enjoying the views from the passenger’s seat. Luana flies a Robinson R22 and Robinson R44.
“My older brother is a helicopter pilot and I grew up listening to him talking about helicopters and he also married a female helicopter pilot. So, I have my brother and my sister-in-law as examples,” said Luana.
“Before I found out that I wanted to become a pilot, I graduated in economics and while I was in university I went on a family trip to Australia and there I flew in a helicopter for the first time.
“From that moment on, I knew that my future would belong in the skies and more specifically being a helicopter pilot. As soon I graduated I searched for a flight school and started to chase my dream.
“Once you have tasted the feeling of flying, walking and seeing things from the ground are not enough anymore.
“The helicopter industry is not as big as the aeroplane industry so I get a lot of invitations from helicopter companies and flight schools asking me to fly with them. I've been doing this for a year and I've already flown to several places including places in the United States and Canada.”
Luana has visited 28 countries so far and initially started her Instagram page to track her training.
“I fly small helicopters, like R22s and R44s, and inside those helicopters you're able to see everything, including what's below you. You're able to land practically wherever you want to, you are able to go to zero airspeed and capture the awesome landscapes perfectly and you can control it in any direction you want to, including backwards,” added Luana.
“People get a little surprised when they see a woman helicopter pilot but they are always nice about it.
“It's funny because I started my Instagram as a personal account to help people and to share my training.
“It's amazing how we have built a nice community with so many pilots all over the world and so many nice people. They sometimes don't realise how happy they make me with their kind and supportive messages.
“I get a lot of messages from people who want to become a pilot asking for tips or just saying that my Instagram was their first step to knowing the aviation and helicopter industry better.
“Don't ever give up on your dreams, it's never too late as long as you have the motivation to start.”

Everyone has something in their bucket list that they want to do before they die and for me one of it was flying a plane . I am grateful that I was able to tick that off . If you want to do the same don't wait for the right time as the right time is now .

Bahamas | April 10/2019 Planespotting Compilation | Silver's ATR Test Run
Silver Airways has got to the point where the ATRs are soon to be put into service. As such, they are now doing proving runs for the FAA. I don't know if the proving runs have to happen everywhere that they expect to fly the ATRs, but so far, it has already been to Grand Bahama and to us in Nassau.
The Bahamas' national bird is the flamingo. Oddly enough, I feel more patriotic looking at Bella than I do looking at Flamingo Air

A Look Back at 2011 - Calhoun County Airport
What a year it has been for the Calhoun Air Center! It has flown by for us. So as we usher in the holidays and a new year, we'd like to take a moment and look back at some of the notable events of 2011.
The airport improvements that began in 2010 were completed during the first part of this year and included our apron expansion and runway overlay. The results were fantastic and our airport has never looked better. The new apron has especially come in handy during events like the Poco Bueno fishing tournament, during which we had record breaking traffic and sales, and our annual Kid's Day where three hundred local sixth graders rotate between twelve aviation related stations learning about everything from fire and rescue, helicopters, to commercial agricultural operations. I'd like to send out another big thank you to all the volunteers that took time out to educate our local youth.
We also set up our new Victoria flight school office. Flight training operations were now based out of a newly remodeled facility on the airport property and made instruction more accessible to area residents. It also gave us a hub to operate from for events such as the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) International Learn to Fly Day, May 21st, and the Wings of Freedom weekend, April 1-3rd, where we provided flights to participants and promoted aviation to the large crowds that came out.
The staff at CAC was able to take time to attend several conferences this year to include the Texas Aviation Association (TXAA) Conference in Austin, a Cessna Pilot Center Seminar in Orlando, as well as an AOPA flight training seminar in Addison. Local high school student Melissa Albrecht was present at the TXAA Conference and was recognized for her third place in State aviation art contest entry. Calhoun Air Center again sponsored a local art contest to provide submissions to the International art competition. We truly enjoy getting to meet with the many people in our profession that are out there, year-round, striving to make general aviation and flight training better for all.
March brought another record breaking event to our rapidly growing airport as we hosted an event for Women of Aviation Worldwide Week (WOAW). Award winning promotion from Jasmine Gordon and record breaking dedication from airport manager Dianna Stanger brought the joy of flying to women of all ages. Stanger took the women ages 2-86 up for a quick flight around the town. Over the two day event, 98 women were able to get a taste of flight. Efforts did not go without notice as Stanger was awarded Most Dedicated Female Pilot in the World and Gordon Most Creative Aviation Advocate by WOAW.
Stanger's passion for aviation extends well beyond Calhoun County. For ten days in June she and teammate Victoria Holt participated in the Air Race Classic, the nation's oldest all female air race, with notable entries such as Amelia Earhart. They competed against over one hundred other contenders and made time along the way to stop and conduct radio interviews and meet with young women interested
in aviation.
Our first annual Monster Bash was a great success. We hosted a 5k run/walk, local EAA Chapter 340 were present giving Young Eagles flights, hay rides, costume contests, flour bomb and golf ball drops were all schedule. Twenty-two vendors were present selling items and numerous volunteers brought it all together. Read more at our newly revamped website, calhounaircenter.com
Our flight school took delivery of a brand new 2011 Cessna 172SP with the G1000 avionics suite in November and the students have loved the new plane smell. Congratulations go out to Mike Solomon, who completed his private pilot certificate, and to Frank Maestri, Kevin Pruett, Mike Nichols, Virgil Saylor, Kevin Hill, and Ryan Dias for soloing. Good luck to all our students working towards their ratings!
As we recap the year, thank you to all who have become a part of our PKV family! You have greatly contributed to the success of this airport; the year's memories have helped make this year better and bigger than ever! We welcome 2012, there's much in store, so stay tuned. Aviation should be a part of our everyday lives, concluding 2011, we thank all of those that have helped achieve that goal.

Part 2 - Flight from OWD-CQX-OWD in C172SP G1000 N13151 (3/2/13)
Part 1 -
This is part 2 of 2 for my flight to Chatham in N13151. This video shows the flight from Chatham back to Norwood including a touch and go back at OWD. The taxiways at CQX are very narrow as you can see at the beginning of the video! After taxiing back to runway 24 for takeoff, we made a short-field takeoff on runway 24 due to it's length being 3,000' feet long. We made a right turn out back to Norwood. As you can see I put in some of the flip footage that Derek too from the back seats of the plane. He filmed the backwards view of the takeoff which was a pretty cool view! We decided not to get a flight following on thhis flight on the way back because we wanted to stay on the CTAF until we got closer to OWD where we could pick up the ATIS. Once we got closer to the coast, we got a traffic warning from the lady in the G1000 and came pretty close to some traffic that flew at least 100-300' feet below us that came from out 10-12 o'clock drifing because of the wind! I tried to point it out in the video but it just shows it soooo small on the camera that it can be hard to see. It looked to me like a Piper Cherokee when it flew underneath us. Anyway, we tuned into the ATIS frequency at Norwood Memorial Airport (KOWD) and got the ATIS and then contacted Norwood Tower. We were told to follow a Warrior for landing on runway 35, which Derek and my CFI got in sight but I had trouble trying to find however I just notified tower anyways because my CFI and Derek saw it. One great feature on the G1000 is it's extended centerline feature on the MFD which is great for lining up with the runway and making long finals and also for different IFR approaches. After my touch and go we made right traffic to runway 35 and we told to follow another Warrior who I believe was on final. After we got him in sight (I got him in sign this time) we were cleared to land on runway 35. After my full stop landing we taxied back to Flight Level and East Coast Aero Club, Inc. parking and shut the plane down while using the checklists. Overall, it was a great flight with some great weather! Not much turbulence at all! I really enjoyed flying to G1000 and I hope to do so again in the future! Enjoy the video!
