This was quite a sad video to make as I had good memories of the Intercontinental Hotel. To see it now empty and looking sorry for itself is such a shame. I couldn't gain access to the hotel as it was locked so footage is of the exterior only.
This video also covers a quick walk through of a small part of the La Torre golf resort, which, at the time of the footage, has a fully functioning golf course and clubhouse.

This is a beautiful golf resort that is kept exceptionally clean and tidy. I've been coming here for ten years and it remains perfect and unspoilt. You don't have to be a golfer (like me) to enjoy this resort with its beautiful and lush surroundings.
With everything on site for residents, including communal pool, shops, services, paddle tennis, supermarket, and excellent restaurants, you'll see just how special this resort is and why people return year after year. It is safe and secure and family friendly - the perfect place to visit.

The best places of Los Alcazares
Los Alcázares is a small, but expanding coastal spa town and former fishing village on the western side of the Mar Menor in the autonomous community and province of Murcia, southeastern Spain.
The Mar Menor (little sea) belongs to three other municipalities: San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar and Cartagena and is Europe's largest saltwater lagoon. Connected to the adjacent Mediterranean sea by several channels, the Mar Menor has a surface area of almost 20 km² and the fact that it is typically 2-4 degrees warmer than the Mediterranean, makes it a very popular destination for sailing, windsurfing, kiteboarding and other water sports enthusiasts. Los Alcazares beaches holds blue flag awards in recognition of the cleanliness and maintenance of the beaches along the Mar Menor. The award is given annually by the Institute for Spanish Tourism.

Carthagène est une ville espagnole située en bordure de la mer Méditerranée dans la communauté autonome de la région de Murcie, dont c'est la capitale législative. Elle compte 218 210 habitants1, ce qui en fait la vingt-quatrième ville espagnole au niveau de la population (la sixième parmi celles qui ne sont pas capitales de province), répartis sur un territoire communal de 558,3 km22. La ville se trouve au sud de la plaine dénommée Campo de Cartagena, espace naturel qui forme son aire métropolitaine et comprend une population totale de 409 586 habitants.
La comarque de Campo de Cartagena comprend également les municipalités de Torre Pacheco, Fuente Álamo de Murcia, Mazarrón, San Pedro del Pinatar, San Javier, Los Alcázares y La Unión. Carthagène est la capitale législative de la communauté autonome de Murcie, siège de son assemblée régionale.
La ville de Carthagène fut fondée par le Carthaginois Hasdrubal le Beau en 227 av. J.-C., probablement sur une installation ibérique ou tartessienne antérieure. De plus, une activité commerciale importante existe dans la zone depuis au moins le vie siècle av. J.-C..
L'économie de Carthagène était traditionnellement basée sur l'exploitation du plomb, de l'argent et du zinc de la Sierra minera et du secteur chimique (sulfure, engrais phosphatés et explosifs). Actuellement, les filons miniers sont épuisés, Carthagène vit donc principalement de la construction et la réparation navale, du raffinage du pétrole et de l'exportation d'huile d'olive, de fruits, d'agrumes, de légumes, d'alfa, de vin et de produits métalliques. C'est aussi l'une des principales bases navales du pays (avec Rota et Ferrol), ainsi qu'une destination émergente du tourisme grâce à son patrimoine artistique dense, et ses deux mille cinq cents années d'histoire.
Carthagène est célèbre pour ses grandes fêtes des carthaginois et des romains et les processions de la Semaine Sainte, qui sont déclarées d'Intérêt Touristique International. De son vaste et monumental patrimoine, il faut remarquer le sous-marin Peral exposé dans le port, le théâtre romain récemment restauré (le plus grand de la péninsule après celui de Mérida), de nombreux vestiges archéologiques d'époques carthaginoise et romaine, de forteresses, des batteries côtières, des bâtiments à caractère militaire et de nombreux édifices d'époques moderne et néoclassique.
