Places to see in ( Girona - Spain ) Castillo de Tossa de Mar
Originally constructed to spot marauders at sea, the walled medieval Castillo de Tossa de Mar now looks out over the much less menacing scene of locals and vacationers lazing on the wide beach below.
This castle-cum-lighthouse on the top of Mt. Guardí dates back to the 12th century, and you can reach it via a walk or a short tram ride up the hill. Once at the Castillo de Tossa de Mar , stand by the cannons pointing out over the cliff to imagine yourself defending the city against medieval pirates.
A handful of restaurants built within old houses in the castle walls provide ideal spots for lunch. Add Castillo de Tossa de Mar and other attractions to your Tossa de Mar trip
Tossa de Mar is architecturally a medieval masterpiece, Tossa de Mar sits majestically on Catalonia’s Girona coast – basking in its beautiful Mediterranean climate.
