Hiking Glacier National Park doesn't end here! As I am spending 2 weeks in Glacier, I plan on tackling as many hikes as I can. This park is amazingly feral! Most of the park is untouched by human hands and truly wild! Stay tuned to see more of the park by subscribing to my channel!

Going-to-the-Sun Road - Point of Interest: Lunch Creek
Need a break on the Going-to-the-Sun Road? Why not stop by Lunch Creek, a historic resting point for visitors to the park. Just don't step on the wildflowers and plants, a careless step can make a huge impact on this fragile eco-system. Watch the video to learn more.

Colored Pebbles Lake
The Glacier National Park in the U.S. state of Montana, on the border with Canada, is home to more than 700 lakes, although only 131 of these lakes have names.
One of the most striking feature of some of these lakes is the presence of a variety of colored rocks and pebbles just below the water surface and on the shores. The rocks range in color from dark red to maroon, and from green to blue. Colored pebbles are seen in abundance on the shores of Lake McDonald on the western side of the park. Lake McDonald is the largest of the lakes of Glacier National Park with a surface area of 6,823 acres.
Kayak Fishing - Glacier National Park, Montana
Northwestern Montana is one of the most beautiful areas in the United States. It's also home to Glacier National Park, the crown of the continent. Join me as I take the Old Town Predator MX fishing kayak out on McDonald Creek and float it down to the Lake McDonald Inlet. I'm fishing for Lake trout. Even though I didn't land any huge fish, I think you'll agree it was a spectacular day on the water!

Top Things to See at Glacier National Park | 10K-mile Road Trip Vlog 47
Here are the top 5 things to do and see in Glacier National Park, Montana, from driving along the Going-to-the-Sun Road to the best hikes and seeing waterfalls and wildlife along the way. See below for more details:
1. Going-to-the-Sun Road
This is a 50-mile road that crosses the park and has epic views almost the entire way. It takes the term scenic highway to a level you never thought possible. Lots of turnoffs along the way to stop for pictures. The road is covered in snow and impassible for most of the year. It is usually only open from late June/early July through mid-October. Check the National Park Service page for exact open and close dates:
Even if you don't have time to do any hikes, just driving along this road is worth the trip. We cannot get over how pretty the scenery is.
2. Hike the Highline Trail (at Logan Pass)
The Highline Trail is the most scenic and breathtakingly beautiful trail I've ever been on. The views over the valley below are incredible. The flowers are colorful and gorgeous. And since you start at Logan Pass with an elevation of over 6600 feet, you don't have to do any work to get the amazing views. You may have to get over your fear of heights, but it's totally worth it. DON'T RUN and DON'T WALK BACKWARDS on this trail - two things I did and I can attest that neither one is smart.
3. Hike Hidden Lake (at Logan Pass)
Hidden Lake is a short hike (1.3 miles) from the visitor center at Logan Pass. It's completely exposed to the sun the entire time. It's always busy. Always. You will see mountain goats on this trail. They're everywhere.
4. Sun Point at Saint Mary Lake
About 15 minutes past Logan Pass is Sun Point. There's a large parking lot right there so it's only a 0.1 mile hike out to the point and it's so pretty. You can see so many mountains and you have such a great view over the lake in all directions.
5. McDonald Falls and Lake McDonald
On the north side of Lake McDonald, turn on North Lake McDonald Road and drive for about 2 minutes to the small parking area on your right. You'll see a trailhead for McDonald Creek. That will take you to the waterfall. Look for deer along this trail (we saw two). You can follow the trail out to Lake McDonald too.
For up-to-date info on road closures, fires, and weather, check out the Glacier National Park site:

Going To The Sun Road - Hiking with Mountain Goats - Glacier National Park, Logan Pass - Montana
After setting into our St.Mary's/East Glacier KOA campground, we head into Glacier National Park for a day of exploring. We take the shuttle up the Going to the Sun road. It was an easy, quick way to avoid the hassle of parking. Once at the highest point, Logan Pass, we hop out and take a hike to Hidden Lake. This beautiful lake is nestled in the mountains and we were in awe of the wildflowers, mountain streams, and wildlife we saw. We lost count of the number of mountain goats we passed!
