Grafenwöhr is a town in the district Neustadt , in the region of the Upper Palatinate in eastern Bavaria, Germany. It is widely known for the United States Army military installation and training area, called Grafenwoehr Training Area , located directly south and west of the town.

As a result, it is known in the Lower Bavarian county of Regen and the Upper Palatine county of Cham as the King of the Bavarian Forest. Its summit region consists of paragneiss.
