Bass fishing on the Miramichi River - New Brunswick, Canada
The Miramichi River is famous for fly fishing. Traditionally this pertains to Atlantic Salmon, but in recent years the population of striped bass has risen to unprecedented levels. No license required, this 3 week open season for fishing stripers has become quite the spectacle in Eastern Canada.
This year marked the inaugural Miramichi Striper Cup which has already proven itself to be a classic in the making. There are so many striped bass that the law has been put into effect that anyone with a fishing rod is permitted to keep 1 bass per day during the fishing season.

If you love fishing, Eva Lake may gives you truly a memorable and enlightening Canadian Wilderness experience.
Little Eva Lake is more than a 1,3000 acre lake. It is part of the Namakan River system and sits just west of the Quetico Provincial Park. The river enters the lake over the spectacular High Falls. This is one of the signature sites of the Boundary Waters. The river flows for about a mile and a half before it exits the lake through a raging rapids. This still water channel continues past the exit for about another mile and a half. All of this channel varies in depth from 25 to 50 feet. This deeper moving and still water is ideal for Walleyes and Northern Pike with Small mouth Bass all around the rocky shores.

Oklahoma River Activities
With a total of 13 miles on the north and south sides of the Oklahoma River, you have plenty of space for biking, running, walking, or just standing still and fishing. You can take a river cruise, or rent a kayak, or just lay back and watch one of the many events that happen here. Is this a great city or what?
Guelph Lake to Burlington - Ontario Bike Tour #2 - Day 10 of 10
Bike Tour Packing:
May 2018 - 9 Day Bike Tour:
This video summarizes Day 10 of my 10 day solo bicycle trip along the shores of Lake Simcoe and Lake Huron in Southern Ontario, Canada. All of the clips in the video were filmed on Sunday July 28, 2018.
Starting at Guelph Lake I turned right from Conservation Rd onto Watson Rd and headed North West. At Mill Rd I turned right and headed down a hill into the Speed River valley. At the top of the other side of the valley I turned right onto Jones Baseline. Approaching County Rd 124, the road curves around the East end of Guelph Lake. Looking back over the lake, the water was very calm and I could see some people rowing. I joined County Rd 124 and headed North East. I turned right onto the 4th line and rode past the Stone United Church. When I reached Highway 7, I detoured North East to the entrance of Rockwood Conservation Area on Fall St. I did a quick tour through Rockwood down to the Eramosa River where the rock cliff faces are. I then continued South East along Guelph Line (Wellington Rd 44), then turned right onto Indian Trail. I turned left onto Ash St and passed through the historic community of Eden Mills. After a short stretch on Wilson St I joined the 2nd line which I rode on for the next 13.5 kilometers. Near the beginning of that Second Line stretch I crossed into the Town of Milton which is within Halton Region. When I reached Sideroad 10 I turned right and jogged over to the First Line Nassagaweya where I continued South East to cross over Highway 401. After a few twists and turned the name of the road changes to McNiven Rd. After crossing Derry Rd, I had now entered the City of Burlington. Despite seeing a sign which said that a large section of Cedar Springs Rd was closed for construction, I turned right onto it. After reaching Britannia Rd the construction area ended and I spotted a large group of road cyclists. As I continued there was lots of hill climbing as I reached the top of the Niagara Escarpment and entered the Hamilton Harbour Watershed coming down the other side. After crossing Dundas St the name of the road changes to Brant St as I made my way down the big hill into Burlington. After Crossing Highway 407 and 403 I turned left onto Plains Rd and entered the Burlington GO station where I caught a train back to Toronto.
Strava for Day 10:
The bike I used for this trip is a New York made Linear Recumbent Bike which I believe is from around 2004. I carried my gear in 2 Giant Waterproof Panniers, and mounted my tent and sleeping pad on the top of the rack.

There are few places in the World that match our Scenery and freshwater fly fishing. In addition there is the potential of catching Trophy Trout over 10 LBS each and everyday. One thing you will want to do is always have a firm grip on your fly rod because the strikes from these massive fish could separate you from it. During the month of June all of the Streams along the Pacific Northwest of Canada are in Freshet. Freshet by definition means; the flood of a river from heavy rain or melted snow. Nonetheless, In our area this is caused by snow melt in the mountains. While the Rivers are high and dirty we switch gears to the large lakes where these streams enter the lakes. The streams brings lots of feed, this in turn gathers the attention of hungry Trout. It's as if they are playing catch with everything that hits the lake and it's a race or the other fish will get it. Now, that sounds like fun doesn't it?
