Our bride Gwen always loved all things romantic every since she was a little girl. Old Mill is a gorgeous historical building in Toronto nestled on the banks of Humber River. This wedding venue is not only one with the most romantic wedding ambiance in Toronto, but it is also located in one of the most scenic and exclusive neighbourhoods in the city. At night the area turns magical when the whole building is bathed in lights with the stars reflecting off the river and nearby lights flickering on the surrounding hills. This venue perfectly matched Gwen’s idea of classic and romantic place, just ideal for her wedding.

The 2010 championship, sponsored by oatmeal producers, Hamlyns of Scotland, attracted a strong line up of competitors comprising professional chefs and porridge making enthusiasts from across Scotland, Manchester, London and the South West of England along with international competitors from Canada, the USA and Sweden.
Among the contenders were the 2009 winner Matthew Cox from Bob's Red Mill, Portland USA who had returned to Scotland to defend his title and last year's speciality winner, Anna Louise Batchelor who bowled over the judges with her Spotted Dick Porridge Pudding.
The list of competitors also included Canadian cookery and foodie writer, Catherine Caldwell, Pia Redin from Sweden, winner of the first Nordic Oatmeal Cooking Competition, Patrick Potter of oatmeal giants Real Foods USA and local man Ian Bishop from the Slochd, Carrbridge who was crowned the world's best porridge maker in 2008.
The championship started with a pipe band parade of competitors and officials followed by the traditional Toast to the Porridge.
Judges George McIvor and Colin Bussey from the Master Chefs of Great Britain and guest judge for 2010, Herald columnist and best selling author, Tom Shields.
Associated activities during the day included the Taste of the Cairngorms showcase of local produce as part of the wider celebration of Scotland's reputation as a Land of Food & Drink, beer and whisky tasting, foodie art workshops and the Carrbridge Forest Run.
