Goiânia é um município brasileiro, capital do estado de Goiás. A cidade está a 209 km de Brasília, a capital nacional. Com uma área de aproximadamente 739 km², Goiânia possui uma geografia contínua, com poucos morros e baixadas, caracterizada por ser uma região do Planalto Central do Brasil.
Localizada no centro do seu estado, a cidade foi planejada e construída para ser a capital política e administrativa de Goiás sob influência da Marcha para o Oeste, política desenvolvida pelo governo Vargas para acelerar o desenvolvimento e incentivar a ocupação do Centro-Oeste brasileiro. Os estreitos laços de amizade e interações políticas entre Pedro Ludovico Teixeira e Vargas contribuíram bastante para essa empreitada. Sofreu um acelerado crescimento populacional desde a década de 1960 e atingiu um milhão de habitantes em 1996. Desde seu início, a sua arquitetura teve influência do Art Déco, que definiu a fisionomia dos primeiros prédios da cidade.
Goiânia é a segunda cidade mais populosa do Centro-Oeste, sendo superada apenas por Brasília. Ela é um importante polo econômico da região, considerada um centro estratégico para áreas como indústria, medicina, moda e agricultura. Contudo, a cidade tem enfrentado desafios, entre eles a desigualdade social, crescentes problemas de trânsito, índices de crime elevados e o clima seco, resultado da poluição e por se localizar no cerrado brasileiro. Entretanto, durante a década de 2000, Goiânia destacou-se entre as capitais brasileiras por possuir o maior índice de área verde por habitante do Brasil, na época ultrapassada apenas para a cidade de Edmonton, no Canadá.
De acordo com as estimativas do Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), sua população é de 1.495.705 habitantes em 2018. Ela é a sexta maior cidade do Brasil em tamanho, com 256,8 quilômetros quadrados de área urbana e o décimo município mais populoso do Brasil. Em 2016, a Região Metropolitana de Goiânia possuía 2.458.504 habitantes, sendo a 13ª região metropolitana mais populosa do país.

Backpacking Brazil for two months: Jan-Mar, 2017.
After a chill visit to Sao Luis, Gabrielle invited me to check out the breath taking Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, just outside of Barreirinhas where we stayed to fill up on supplies and find a guide willing to take us through the desert. This vast dessert landscape is not only amazing because it receives around 1,200 millimetres (47 in) of rain per year, but because it was once a thriving forest. This forest still lives underneath the entire landscape, absorbing water through the various lagoons. This wonder desert is a living monument of a land that once stood. The energy here is unearthly, I felt like I was a character in my very own sci-fi movie the entire time. The small town of Barreirinhas was beautiful, the people were welcoming and humble. The entire experience was very refreshing.

Ciudad del Este is a city in Paraguay, on the triple border with Brazil and Argentina. It is linked to the city of Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, by an international bridge over the Paraná river. It is mainly a shopping destination for Brazilians and Argentinians. trade,money, money transport, money offices, money office, bank, banks, Brazilian police near the border with Paraguay have exchanged gunfire with members of a gang who carried out what Paraguayan officials are calling the robbery of the century.
Three gang members were killed and two injured in the clash, police say.
Earlier on Monday about 50 men moved into the Paraguayan city of Ciudad del Este, blew up the front of a private security firm, and fired on police.
Unconfirmed reports suggest they could have stolen up to $40m (£31m; €37m).
After the robbery, the gang created a diversion by burning cars and attacking the local police station. They escaped after a two-hour shootout that left one police officer dead at the scene after the company's vaults were blown up.

Hito de las Tres Fronteras, Presidente Franco (Bus Matiauda drops you at the entrance from the center (G.2500), Tres Fronteras and Trans Parana leaves you nearby. Ask the driver when you hop on). A sort of park with a look out to the confluence of Parana River and Iguazu River. Each coast belongs to a different country, all with look outs over the area and a big column with the colours of the respective country. A quiet place to relax, with nice views, benches, playground and toilets. Nearby there is a car and passeger boat connecting Paraguay with Argentina, and customs. G. 5000. edit
