Top 10 Things to do on St Helena Island
My Top Ten Things To Do on St Helena Island
During my seven months on St Helena I have had the opportunity to explore this wonderful remote island in the South Atlantic. Only 4500 people and 1000s of miles from Brazil or Angola/Namibia. It is truly remote. The Saint people are some of the most warm and welcoming people I have ever had the pleasure or living and working with.
This is my top ten things to o on St Helena Island when you are here.

Saint Helena is one of the most isolated places in the world, located more than 2,000 km (1,200 mi) from the nearest major landmass. As there is currently no airport on Saint Helena, travel to the island is by ship only. The RMS Saint Helena berths in James Bay approximately thirty times per year. The ship calls on such other ports as Cape Town, Ascension Island, Tenerife, Vigo, Walvis Bay and Isle of Portland, UK

After our first day in St. Helena we are pretty hungover from celebrating our arrival. We spend the day chilling on Delos, enjoying warm water and acting strange... Then we decide its time to take on the 699 stairs in the main town of Jamestown, St. Helena! We aren't so fit though and one of us even throws up.. haha Much love Delos Tribe!

Top 10 Countries to Visit in 2016 | LONELY PLANET Best In Travel Summary
Hey Guys!
I know there are so many travel recommendations online, it’s often hard to tell which ones are reliable and up to date!
But, when LONELY PLANET, undoubtedly the best travel guide in the world, releases their yearly travel recommendations ‘Best In Travel 2016’, you can start booking your holidays without looking any further.
Best in Travel 2016 includes top 10 countries, top 10 cities and top 10 regions, with number one as the most ‘travelable’ place for the coming year.
For 2016, the number one place was honored to Botswana (Country, South Africa), Kotor (City, Montenegro) and Transylvania (Region, Romania).
Let me tell you the best things about this year's Best Countries as well as what my favorites are from the top ten list. Tomorrow, I will share with you the Best Cities and Thursday - Best Regions! Stay Tuned!
BEST COUNTRY TO TRAVEL IN 2016:
LONELY PLANET: Botswana
If you are anything like me, you are dying to discover Africa but have no idea which one of the countries to go to. You want to do a safari, see what locals really live like and see a National Park without getting mugged? Well, looks like Botswana could be our best bet. It does not only have a safe and stable economy, it is also one giant nature reserve with movie-like safaris and breath-taking river deltas (world famous the Okavango Delta).
Best time to go: May to August
Price: Not too bad, with a lot of airlines offering a return ticket for under $1500 from LAX.
AGGIE IN HER SHOES: Palau
I lived in 3 out of top 10 countries and so I feel like a bad mother choosing a favorite out of her kids. Probably that is why my vote goes to Palau, a country consisting of 250 islands just North of Papa New Guinea. The more I learn of Palau, the more I become intrigued. Even tough much further than Bora Bora, the flights are considerably less expensive (from $1400 return from LAX as opposed to $2200 to the French Polynesian getaway) and the convenience of the US dollar as the national currency and English as the official language is yet another plus (it is a presidential republic in free association with the US). It seems like Hawaii might have some serious competition, especially among savvy divers and snorkelers looking for a perfect dive in a place their friends have never even heard of! #theUltimateDestinationForTravelSnobs

Destination/Property Market Guide: Estrela, Lisbon
Home to one of Lisbon’s most iconic landmarks, the Basilica da Estrela, this neighbourhood is tucked out of the way of the city’s bustling centre but is still ideally located within a 15 minute walk of all the action. As the chosen setting for the Prime Minister’s residence, Estrela was first popular with the bourgeoisie which has shaped the neighbourhood’s architecture with small palaces and neo-classical mansions. An ideal location for families, Estrela has a good selection of schools and boasts a beautiful green park for children to play in.
Prices still remain comparatively low to more central areas in Lisbon, however its increasing popularity with tourists is likely to bump the prices up in future.

One of the things that the city of Rio de Janeiro is best known for is its beaches. The image of beautiful women and sculptural men sunbathing and practicing some sport in the fine white sand, has gone around the world and has made Rio become a destination desired by lovers of the sun and the sea.
There are many beaches in Rio de Janeiro and there are some for all tastes. The most famous are undoubtedly the Ipanema beach and the Copacabana beach, whose promenade with its undulating black and white shape is recognized worldwide. In these beaches is where more people gather in a fantastic mix of color, light, music and joy.
But in addition to these two beaches, there are others that suit all tastes. If you are looking for a small, quiet and easily accessible beach, the Vermelha beach at the foot of the Sugar Loaf is the right one. The beach of Leme is perfect to practice bodysurfing, or to see others practicing it from your walk of the fishermen.
For its part, the waves of the sea in Arpoador are good for surfing, although if it is famous for something this beach is for being the obligatory appointment every day at the end of the afternoon. From the top of the huge stone of Arpoador (you have to go with time to get a good place) you have fantastic views of the sunset, which in summer is hidden behind the nose Dois Irmaos creating a combination of beautiful lights and shadows.
