Castelletto Merli is a comune in the Province of Alessandria in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 40 kilometres east of Turin and about 35 kilometres northwest of Alessandria. Little Proto P2 Cars w/ Motorbike Engines Racing on Track - Twingo, Fiat 126, X1/9 & More!!

You may remember my video about a few Proto P2 cars racing on hillclimbs and in a little street circuit. This video is from a Formula Challenge race (which is a chase race in which the cars start at preset intervals and it's held on circuits able to provide an average speed not over 80 km/h) and you can see many of them in action on track.
Proto P2 cars are a sort of covered go-karts with a very low weight and powered by motorcycle-derived engines which makes them very agile and suitable for slalom races and for tiny and little circuit. You can see in this video cars like a Renault Twingo, a few Fiat X1/9, Fiat 500, Autobianchi A112 and a few Fiat 126.

Last Saturday I recorded this Nissan Silvia S14 drifting on track during an evening of free practices organized by the Italian Drift No Profit organization. The original SR20 engine has been swapped with a Nissan RB26 DETT engine which is a 2.6-litre inline-6 twin turbocharged.
