I visited Cáceres, a province of western Spain, during the Holy Week and the cherry blossom.
Nature, landscapes, wildlife, historic sites, castles, churches, archeological sites, religious processions, friendly people and tasty food.
I've tried to mix all these experiences in a short video. Thanks for watching, I hope you like it.

I shoot in 4K most of the time, but if I anticipate a nice slow motion shot then I change to Full HD (1080p) with the highest possible frame rate (120fps in the Sony A6500).

Unos días recorriendo la provincia de Cáceres (España), coincidiendo con la Semana Santa y los cerezos en flor en el valle del Jerte.
Valle del Jerte, Comarca de la Vera (Monasterio de San Jerónimo de Yuste), Hervás, Granadilla, las Hurdes, Sierra de Gata, Alcántara, Valencia de Alcántara, ciudad de Cáceres, Trujillo, Guadalupe, Parque Nacional de Monfragüe, etc.
Una gran escapada con preciosos paisajes, Naturaleza, lugares históricos, castillos, iglesias, gente encantadora y buena comida.

Grabo casi siempre en calidad 4K, a no ser que prevea que la toma va a quedar bien a cámara lenta. En este caso cambio el formato a Full HD (1080p) y el mayor numero posible de fotogramas por segundo (120fps en el caso de la Sony A6500).

Centuries of history are presented in Spain which remind Jewish presence, just walking and enjoying across their streets, buildings, arcs, squares, which are the perfect testimony of cohabitation between Jewish, Mudejars and Christians.
The Jewish quarter creation around Spanish cities was been setting along Middle Age. Generally, after new distributions through urban spaces, reconquests and repopulations, downtown spaces were allocated to Christians, setting aside Mudejars (conversed Muslims) to outskirts (named as Moorish quarter), while Jewish kept their social level, and used to cohabite with invaders.
As soon as Christian occupation was definitive, antijewish measures became stronger, which put Jewish into the background, making isolates neighborhoods called Jewish quarters.
Probably, in Spain there were quite important Jewish quarters, at least 300. Recently, Jewish Spanish Association has been created, 26 cities which still conserve their special urban structure.
We´ll visit four of them, selected by chance:
-CÓRDOBA: One of the most visited places in the city, it's a white quarter decorated with flowers.
-TOLEDO: Main sanctuary for people looking for Jewish memories.
-CÁCERES: old Jewish quarter with popular houses, whitewash walls and big bricked chimneys, adapted to the land´s gradient, therefore, quite steep slopes, it is called Quebrada Quarter.
-HERVÁS: a respected urban design, narrow streets extremely tight, balconies with big cantilevers, native materials. Almost award-winning as best place 2013, by Repsol guide.

Hervás está situada en la falda de la Sierra de Béjar, en el Valle del Ambroz, al norte de la provincia de Cáceres. Cuenta con una población de 4.891 habitantes (INE 2005). Situada en Extremadura y siendo el municipio más extenso de toda España, Cáceres es denominada la villa de los mil y un escudos debido al alto número de blasones que adornan las fachadas de muchos de sus edificios. Y es que Cáceres es una ciudad con historia que hoy en día sigue tan viva como hace dos mil años. En Cáceres tienes que pasear por sus calles empedradas y disfrutar de sus muchos edificios históricos que la salpican, beber del encanto tradicional que aún se respira en sus callejones. No debes perderte su catedral, el Palacio Episcopal, la Casa de los Ovando, el Arco de la Estrella o la Torre de Bujaco, entre otros.
Para saborearla debes dirigirte a la Plaza Mayor y disfrutar de alguno de los muchos bares de tapas que hay por ahí y tomar algún típico la chanfaina, el gazpacho o la torta del casar. Al poseer tres campus universitarios, Cáceres es una ciudad joven donde se puede disfrutar de la noche. Algunos lugares muy conocidos entre los estudiantes son El Taranto y La Taberna de Abraham, donde podrás comer y beber a precios muy asequibles.
Una idea: Pasea por el antiguo campamento romano que dio origen a la actual ciudad y que se encuentra en bastante buen estado.

Caceres is a historical city as alive as two thousand years ago. You should walk along its cobbled streets, enjoying the historical buildings of the city. Do not forget to visit its Cathedral, the Episcopal Palace, the Casa de los Ovando, the Arco de la Estrella and the Torre de Bujaco, among other.
If you like to taste typical dishes, you should come by the Plaza Mayor and enjoy some of the tapas where you will find dishes such as the chanfaina, gazpacho or torta del casar. Because of its three university campuses, Caceres is considered to be a young city to enjoy the nightlife. Some places are very popular for the students like El Taranto and La Taberna de Abraham, where you will be able to drink and eat at affordable price.
One idea: have a walk through the Roman camp which gave this city its origin. It is in good state of conservation.
