El episodio de hoy transcurre en la sierra norte de Cáceres (Extremadura), concretamente en Las Hurdes y Sierra de Gata.

Lo primero que vamos a conocer son sus pueblos, todos ellos llenos del encanto del mundo rural y en los cuales vamos a encontrar una amplísima oferta de alojamientos rurales. Voy a enseñaros dos de los pueblos que más me han gustado. Por un lado tenemos El Gasco, un pequeño municipio que aún preserva la arquitectura rural de las Hurdes con casas bajas hechas a base de piedras lisas y planas llamadas lajas. El segundo municipio que quiero presentaros es Robledillo de la Gata, un idílico pueblo de 80 habitantes situado en el corazón de Sierra que dispone de 150 plazas de alojamiento rural.

Las Hurdes y Sierra de Gata son dos parajes naturales de gran belleza. En las Hurdes encontramos un terreno agreste convertido en un gran tapiz cromático gracias a los colores que aportan los brezos y las jaras. Y del terreno escarpado de las Hurdes nos vamos a frondosidad de Sierra de Gata, donde se puede pasear por algunos de los mejores bosques de encinas y alcornoques de España. Pero lo que más me llamó la atención de esta comarca fue la continua presencia del agua. Sierra de gata y Las Hurdes dispone de innumerables acuíferos y saltos de agua como el Chorro de la Meancera con 100 metros de caída o el impresionante Meandro del Melero.

También nos vamos a adentrar en el mundo de la apicultura, porque esta comarca del norte de Extremadura es líder en la producción de miel y aprovechando que estamos en el municipio de Las Mestas, nos vamos a meter en una colmena.

Seguramente ya estés planificando tu viaje por Sierra de Gata y Las Hurdes, pero si aún tienes dudas, he dejado para el final lo más espectacular de esta comarca, porque no quedan muchos lugares donde poder avistar la belleza de los buitres leonados en un paraje como la sierra norte de Extremadura.

The first thing we will see are the region's villages, all of them full of the charm of the rural world and in which we will find a wide range of lodgings. I'll show you two of the villages that I liked the most. On one hand we have El Gasco, a small town that still preserves the Las Hurdes rural architecture, with low houses made from smooth, flat stones called lajas. The second village I want to show you is Robledillo de Gata, an idyllic village of 80 inhabitants located in the heart of Sierra that has 150 rural accommodation spaces.

Hurdes and Sierra de Gata are two natural places of great beauty. In Las Hurdes we will find a wild area that resembles a large, colorful tapestry thanks to the heather and rockrose. From the rugged terrain of Las Hurdes we will go to the luxury of Sierra de Gata, where you can stroll through some of the best forests of corn oaks and holm oaks in Spain. But what caught my attention in this region was the continued presence of water. Sierra de Gata and Las Hurdes have wells and countless waterfalls, like the Chorro de la Meancera with a 100 meter drop and the impressive Meandro de El Melero.

We will also delve into the world of beekeeping, because this region of northern Extremadura is a leading producer of honey. Taking advantage of being in the town of Las Mestas, we will get into a beehive.

Surely you're already planning your trip Sierra de Gata and Las Hurdes, but if you still have doubts, I've saved the most spectacular part of this region for last, because there are not many places where you can glimpse the beauty of vultures in a place.

Teixois is an ethnographic ensemble in Asturias (Spain), which was opened to the public in 1980 . Teixois is a hamlet that is located 4 km from the village of Taramundi , to the southeast. In this enclave is an important group of hydraulic mills in very good state of conservation and operation, protected and well taken care of by the responsible institutions. The visitor can see all these machines in operation at the same time that he receives the pertinent technical and historical explanations that the managers and caretakers of the set offer them.

The geographical environment consists of a landscape of mountains, streams (the stream called Las Mestas is the one that drives the machines of the whole), unevenness, paths and rural roads, with the vegetation and greenery of this area.

The batanes began to be used in Spain from century XII . In the eighteenth century, in Asturias there were about 200 batanes in operation, according to data extracted from the cadastre of the Marquis de la Ensenada . Still in the nineteenth century they were still abatanando cloths for fabrics known as sackcloth and serge that were used for making garments using the Asturian peasants jackets , vests , skirts , coats , monteras , hats , etc. In the 20th and 21st centuriesis still made the stamping, although with other methods and the area of Cabrales uses this fabric to make the boots or carpines , which are a kind of thick socks that are put on the feet before the calves and wrestling very well the cold and the humidity.

Martes,15 de Julio de 2014...Siempre que este pueblo me coge en ruta de vuelta a casa, paro para comer en su Parador,perfecto guardian de las esencias,colores y sabores de la Cocina Asturiana..y a la vez me abastezco de los estupendos productos asturianos en las tiendas del centro del pueblo...Fabes,embutidos,¡morcillas! las ricas moscancías asturianas...Paso por el Puente Romano al que en lapsus repetidos llamo románico...por el Ayto..la iglesia de la Asunción y saludo a D.Pelayo.
Llego cansada y con sed...¡¡¡qué ganas de pillar una sidrina!!!
