MADRID-Charming capital of Spain + history 2(3)
My favourite in Spain ! Here are some of the fantastic quirky places I love in Madrid. Upload BG is La Calderona - painting can be seen at the below museum.
* 2 mins from the tube station CALLAO - Convent Monasterio de las Descalzas Reales founded in1559 by Joan of Austria. Former palace of King Charles I of Spain and Isabel of Portugal, now a fantastic museum !
* Puerta del Sol - tube same name - Here you can find the most popular and oldest bakery La Mallorquina from 1894.
* Calle de Rompelanzas - 2 mins from CALLAO tube station, the shortest street in Madrid !
* Plaza Mayor - old town square 3 mins from tube station P del Sol with quirky and lovely old shops, bars and restaurants. Origin from 15C, both bull fights and autos de fe took place here during the 17th Century.
* Calle de Cuchilleros (where before knives were produced and sharpened) still at Plaza Mayor, this is one of the 9 exits and it takes you to many interesting buildings, flamenco bars and shops.
* Calzados LOBO, calle Toledo 30, old traditional shoe shop a must visit !!! Founded 1897 and since then run by the Lobo family.
* Queue of madrilenos waiting for their turn to buy a winning ticket in the huge Spanish Christmas Lottery El Gordo at the famous shop La Manolita .
*Calle Los Jardines off La Montera.
* Calle Montera or La Montera, busy street, the old shops are mostly gone and the oldest profession is working already at 4 in the afternoon.
* Madrilenos queuing up in front of the HM head entrance, Gran Via to be the first to grab some clothes from the HM - Versace collaboration at 9 in the evening.
* San Bernardo, old traditional business street in the town centre.
*Cafe-bar La Prensa, opened 69 and still serving the most tasting Spanish food, tapas and wines and the fantastic beer MAHOU,
* Km 0at the tube Puerta del Sol this is the start of all radial network of Spanish roads and where the New Year is celebrated eating the traditional 12 grapes of moscatel.
All photography my own.

Malaga, Costa del Sol, Spain - Unravel Travel TV
Malaga is on the southern Mediterranean coast, 50 nautical miles from the Straits of Gibraltar and 520 kilometres from Madrid. The exceptional climate of Malaga in the Costa del Sol, Spain enables Nautical Tourism activities to be staged all year round. Surfing, water ski-ing and kite surfing are just some of the activities that enable you to combine active holidays with a vast leisure offer.
The Costa del Sol marinas include Puerto Banús, in Marbella. One of the activities with a long tradition is light sailing, although if you are looking for an unforgettable experience consider a boat trip or hiring a boat to explore the water of the Mediterranean Sea.
Scuba diving fans find their own paradise in the Maro-Cerro Gordo Natural Park (Nerja), one of the preferred areas for kayak routes or to take in the cliffs.

La Fortuna Costa Rica - Arenal Volcano Travel Guide | 90+ Countries With 3 Kids
Welcome to La Fortuna, a charming little town in Costa Rica!
This cute town was founded in the 1930s and it was originally called “El Burio.” However, locals decided to change the name of the city to La Fortuna, which means “fortune” in Spanish, because of the fertility of their lands and the vast variety of tourist attractions it offers.
It is located in San Carlos Canton, nearby the Arenal Volcano, which you can clearly see from the village. Its first eruption happened in 1968 when it destroyed the small town of Tabacón and spared La Fortuna at the same time. Even though this was Costa Rica’s most active volcano during the past few decades, and one of top 10 most active volcanos in the world, since 2010, Arenal has been dormant.
The Arenal Volcano National Park is definitely worth a visit, especially if you are into bird-watching. 850 different bird species can be found here, along with coatis, deer, jaguars, various snakes and white-faced capuchin monkeys.
If you are looking for accommodation in La Fortuna, Selina is our recommendation. This place is ideal for digital nomads. It is located in the center of the town, has a fantastic co-working office, fast internet and plenty of space where you can relax, like comfy hammocks, huts around the bonfire, movie room, library, and outdoor yoga studio. They also have a pool, bar and a restaurant that serves terrific food, but also a shared kitchen where you can cook for yourself.
