Katwijk is a coastal municipality and town in the province of South Holland, which is situated in the mid-western part of the Netherlands. The Oude Rijn river flows through the town and into the North Sea. Katwijk is located on the North Sea, northwest of Leiden and 16 km north of The Hague. It shares its borders with the municipalities of Noordwijk, Teylingen, Oegstgeest, Leiden, and Wassenaar. In May 2018, Katwijk had a population of 65.023 and covers an area of 31.13 km2 , of which 6.59 km2 is water. Katwijk is by far the largest town in the Duin- en Bollenstreek .

Soldier of Orange is a Dutch musical production, based on the true story of resistance hero Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema. In the 1970s, he wrote his experiences during World War II down in a book and director Paul Verhoeven made it into a feature film, starring actor Rutger Hauer. The musical premiered on 30 October 2010, in a theatre that was purpose-built for the production: the TheaterHangaar on the former Valkenburg air base in Katwijk . Queen Beatrix attended the premiere together with Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema's widow, Karin. Soldier of Orange is produced by Robin de Levita and NEW Productions, which is a collaboration between investment company Amerborgh Nederland and Volterra, parent company of Montecatini Talent Agency.

Stoomtrein Katwijk Leiden , is a 700 mm narrow gauge heritage railway line around the Valkenburgse Meer in the south of Katwijk, Netherlands. Although the name translates as Steam Train Valkenburg Lake, technically actually trams are used for the tourist attraction. Carriages are mostly remakes of early-20th century tram carriages, built by the Nederlandse Smalspoor Stichting in Katwijk.

Keukenhof , also known as the Garden of Europe, is one of the world's largest flower gardens, situated in Lisse, South Holland, Netherlands. According to the official website for the Keukenhof Park, approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted annually in the park, which covers an area of 32 hectares .Keukenhof is located in South Holland, south of Haarlem and southwest of Amsterdam. It is accessible by bus from the train stations of Haarlem, Leiden and Schiphol. It is located in an area called the Dune and Bulb Region . Keukenhof is open annually from mid-March to mid-May. The best time to view the tulips is around mid-April, depending on the weather.

From 1961 to 1974 old buildings from all over the Zaanstreek were relocated using lowboy trailers to the area. The Zaans Museum, established in 1994 near the first Zaanse Schans windmill, is located south of the neighbourhood. Zaanse Schans derived its name from the river Zaan and its original function as sconce against the Spanish troops during the Eighty Years' War of Dutch independence. The tulip flower route in South Holland, The Netherlands.
We start in Oegsgeest en drive trough Warmond, Hillegom, Lisse, Noordwijk en Katwijk. Then over the N11 and A12 to Amersfoort. (highway) Enjoy the trip.

The drive was during Kingsdag. That is the reason people had the dutch flags out.

Niederlande Sehenswürdigkeiten - Noordwijk

Nicht nur die Tulpen lieben das Küstenklima. Der Bollenstreek ist eine beliebte Urlaubsregion, wie das kleine Örtchen Katwijk an de Rejn. Direkt neben Katwijk, liegt der beliebte Badeort Noordwijk, aber auch das größte Weltraumzentrum mit einer riesigen Ausstellung. Die größte Attraktion ist sicherlich eine originale Mondlandefähre.
