Top 10 Cherry Blossom Spots in Tokyo
1. Showa Kinen Park- Showa Kinen park is considered the largest park in Tokyo. It has a vast area of 1,653,000 square meters containing about 1500 cherry blossom trees. This is a great place to view the cherry blossoms.
2. Kajino- dori Avenue- Kajino dori Avenue is one of those hidden cherry blossom spots in Tokyo. There are countless rows of cherry blossoms on this avenue.
3. Koganei Park- Koganei Park is considered Tokyo's second largest park. The park contains about 2,000 cherry blossom trees.
4. Shinjuku Gyoen- Shinjuku Gyoen was originally used as the imperial garden during the Edo period. Similar to Showa Kinen park, Shinjuku Gyoen has about 1500 cherry blossom trees.
5. Yoyogi Park- Yoyogi park is considered the 3rd largest park in Tokyo. The park features about 700 cherry trees.
6. Hamarikyu Gardens- Hamarikyu Gardens is a spacious, gorgeous, tranquil, and large 662 acre public oasis park that is great for viewing cherry blossoms.
7. Aoyama Cemetery- Aoyama cemetery features countless cherry blossoms. What is unique about the cemetery is not only the abundant cherry blossom trees surrounding the entire cemetery, but also famous people like Ueno (the dog owner of Hachiko).
8. Mohri Garden- Mohri Garden is an amazing place to view the cherry blossoms. The beautiful and romantic green oasis is richly filled with history. There lies a pond in the garden. Inside the the pond are madaka fish that were born in space.
9. Sumida Park- Sumid Park contains about 600 cherry blossom trees that overlook the Sumida River. Not only can you view the cherry blossom trees but the magnificent Tokyo Skytree as well.
10. Meguro River- Along the Meguro River, you will find about 800 exquisite and shiny cherry trees. There are paper lanterns that light up the river creating such a magical area.
