TEN ISLANDS HISTORICAL PARK Coosa River / Neely Henry
We did a short day trip tour of the TEN ISLANDS HISTORICAL PARK at the Neely Henry Dam on the Coosa River in east Alabama. It was opened in June 1966. There is 339 miles of shore line with 11,200 surface acres. GPS coordinates 33.84 degrees North & 86.06 degrees W. Beautiful park and recreational area. Swimming, boating, fishing, picnicking. This is where a battle was fought during the Civil War July 14, 1864. I give detail in the video about the historical location. We also took a detour on the way to see Turtle Rock and the view.
