those spend at least two weeks in can Krakow. The park is only twenty kilometers from the city, were castles, caves and river valleys framed by hills and forest are waiting to be discovered. Ojcow is the favorite weekend excursion place of the residence of Krakow, so tourists make a better choice if they visit here during the week.
Discover Ojcow National Park in Poland
The National park of Ojcow is worth visiting, especially for those spend at least two weeks in can Kraków. The park is only twenty kilometers from the city, were castles, caves, and river valleys framed by hills and forest are waiting to be discovered. Ojcow is the favorite weekend excursion place of the residence of Kraków, so tourists make a better choice if they visit here during the week.
The grill bars and snack bars along the road, which provide the atmosphere of a picnic, are all open it this time also. The twenty one square kilometer national park is easily accessible by bus. Since Poland is traditionally religious catholic country, we can also find places of worship at parks too. This however is not a stone church, but a nicely carve little wooden chapel, opposite the car park. This is the starting point of hikes. It's worth preparing for this with coats and sweaters.
If we've had to leave our cars anyway, we cannot only go with a good walking tour but we can take the opportunity for a bicycle tour, even with the rented mountain bike. The scenic valley of the Prudnik is winding along the oldest ranges of the era of Krakow. The river valley narrowing to canyons of some places is framed with limestone rocks of various shapes. The valley widens at some places, here it's surrounded by green fields.
While in the white rocks the mouths of caves are various sizes are open. The famous rock formation standing at the east area is called the Krakow gate. The log shaped rock rising behind is called Hercules club. In the last third of the ten kilometer long valley, the view of the romantic castles standing on the steep hill opens up. The Piascoes Kaskala was built on the fourteen century to be a royal watch post, and then it became the possession of a Polish Aristocratic family.

Wawel Castle
A Gothic castle. Was built at the behest of Casimir III the Great, who reigned from 1333 to 1370, and consists of a number of structures situated around the central courtyard.
Main Square
The principal urban space located at the center of the city. It dates back to the 13th century, and at roughly 40,000 m2 (430,000 ft2) is one of the largest medieval town squares in Europe.
St. Mary's Basilica

Wieliczka Salt Mine

Planty Park
One of the largest city parks. Encircles the Stare Miasto (Old Town), where the Medieval city walls used to stand until the early 19th century. Consists of a chain of thirty smaller gardens designed in varied styles.
Ojców National Park
A national park established in 1956. Takes its name from the village of Ojców, where it also has its headquarters. Chopin visited Ojców in 1829. It is Poland's smallest national park, with an original area of 14.40 square kilometers.
Kościuszko Mound
An artificial mound modeled after Kraków's prehistoric mounds of Krak and Wanda. Erected by Cracovians in commemoration of the Polish national leader Tadeusz Kościuszko. A serpentine path leads to the top, approx. 326 metres above sea level.
Polish Aviation Museum
A large museum of old aircraft and aircraft engines. This airfield, established by Austria-Hungary in 1912, is one of the oldest in the world. Has been scored as eighth world's best aviation museum by CNN television.
Kraków Barbican
A barbican – a fortified outpost once connected to the city walls. A gateway leading into the Old Town. One of the few remaining relics of the complex network of fortifications and defensive barriers that once encircled the royal city.
Botanic Garden of the Jagiellonian University
A botanical garden, founded in 1783. Located east of the Old Town (Stare Miasto) and occupies 9.6 hectares. Belongs to the Jagiellonian University and is classified as a historical location.

1. Orgrodzieniec

The Gothic Castle is situated on a peninsula between the two rivers, making it a fantastic place to defense. Every year, the Castle plays host to reworking the battle of Grunwald, a significant battle occurred in 1410.

When Krakow served as the capital of Poland, Wawel Royal Castle was the residence of the Dukes of Poland. From the 14th century to the 18th century, Wawel Royal Castle is the home of the Kings are countless. Built on a cliff called the Wawel Hill, the Castle offers stunning views of the city below. Today, Wawel Royal Castle serves as a museum where you can see the jewel of the Kingdom of Poland and other important artifacts.
