Biecz is a town and municipality in southeastern Poland, in Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Gorlice County. It is in the Carpathian Mountains, in the Doły Jasielsko-Sanockie, by the Ropa River. Due to its rich history, it is often referred to as little Kraków or the pearl of the Carpathians. The many preserved medieval city walls and buildings have also given rise to the nickname Polish Carcassonne. By the mid-16th century, the city was one of the largest in Poland.     Muzeum Ziemi Bieckiej is a museum of local history located in the town of Biecz, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Poland. It has been founded in 1953 as the Muzeum Regionalne w Bieczu . In 2003 the museum was renamed to its current name. The museum has four main venues. Kromerówka is a museum dedicated to Marcin Kromer, in a Renaissance 16th century kamienica. Dom z Basztą is another 16th-century kamienica, with an exhibit about old apothecary shop, and various crafts, trades and guilds. Baszta Kowalska and Turma pod Wieżą Ratuszową form the remaining two exhibit venues.
