Easter Palm Tree Contest Lipnica Murowana konkurs na najładniejszą palmę
Easter Palm Tree Contest is organized this year by Municipal Cultural Center in Lipnica Murowana. The organizers invited everyone to Lipnica Murowana for Palm Sunday for an unforgettable experience. Numerous other associated events took place in the contest’s day, including folk band performances, presentation and sampling of regional dishes and exhibitions of folk artists’ creations.
In the Christian tradition, Palm Sunday is the last Sunday before Easter. It commemorates the day when Jesus rode into Jerusalem, and people greeted him by waving palm fronds and crying out 'Hosanna!'. A remembrance of that day is still practiced in most Christian faiths by bringing palm fronds to houses of worship.
But there is a slight problem. Poland doesn't have palm tress.
They do, however, have extremely rich folk traditions which date back to pre-Christian times, and which have largely survived in the Catholic custom. Such a tradition has evolved from the colourful Slavic decoration of twigs and branches in anticipation of Spring to the Christian weaving of palms.
Two places are particularly well worth visiting in Poland for Palm Sunday: the village of Łyse in the Northeastern region of Kurpie, and the village of Lipnica Murowana, just Southwest of Cracow.
Only there will you find such elaborate palms made out of crepe paper and dried flowers, so tall that they cannot be carried upright.

Almost 60 merchants from Poland, but also exhibitors from the UK, Lithuania, Ukraine and Hungary, offer mainly holiday articles: reeds, baskets, palms, candles, Easter eggs. There is also hand-painted porcelain, jewelry, tablecloths, salt products, wood and more.

Cały czas słuchamy muzyki, którą zarejstrowałem podczas koncertu, który miał miejsce na Placu Nowym. Po drodze do Placu Nowego (gdzie pokazane są fragmenty wspomnianego koncertu oraz tańce) oglądamy budynek Synagogi Wysokiej i Synagogi Izaaka Jakubowicza. W następnej części filmu powrócimy na ul. Szeroką, a następnie udamy się na Cmentarz Nowy.

Jaworzyna Krynicka or Jaworzyna (1114 m) - the peak in the Beskid Sadecki mountain range, located in the municipal area of Muszyna close to Krynica - Zdroj, the highest peak in the band of Jaworzyna. Jaworzyna Krynicka is highly developed . At its apex runs cableway from the valley of the Czarny Potok. Thanks to this, as well as for large grassy areas on its peak, Jaworzyna is a good and massively popular vantage point .

Jaworzyna Krynicka lub Jaworzyna (1114 m) – szczyt w Beskidzie Sądeckim, znajdujący się na obszarze gminy Muszyna w pobliżu Krynicy-Zdroju, najwyższy w Paśmie Jaworzyny.
Jaworzyna Krynicka jest silnie zagospodarowana. Na jej wierzchołek kursuje z doliny Czarnego Potoku kolej gondolowa. Dzięki temu, jak również dzięki dużym trawiastym obszarom na jej grzbiecie, jest Jaworzyna dobrym i masowo odwiedzanym punktem widokowym. Panorama widokowa (z różnych miejsc) obejmuje cały horyzont. Jest też zimą ośrodkiem narciarskim, jednym z największych w Polsce.
Jest też Jaworzyna węzłem szlaków turystyki pieszej i rowerowej. Na szczycie znajduje się maszt radiowo-telewizyjny, restauracja i bufety.( )
