Ōhinetahi is a valley, historic homestead, and formal garden on Teddington Road, Governors Bay, Christchurch, Canterbury Region, New Zealand. Ōhinetahi valley is situated at the head of Lyttelton Harbour while the Port Hills rise above Ōhinetahi. While the Ōhinetahi Homestead is considered to be a significant historic building in the small settlement of Governors Bay, the formal garden of Ōhinetahi is considered to be one of New Zealand's finest. Amongst the early owners of Ōhinetahi were Canterbury pioneer William Sefton Moorhouse and Thomas Potts, New Zealand's first conservationist. Sir Miles Warren, architect of the Christchurch Town Hall, was the last private owner, and gifted it to New Zealand.

Porters, is a commercial ski resort just over an hour's drive west from Christchurch, in the South Island of New Zealand. Originally functioning as a club skifield, it has one beginner magic carpet, one platter tow, one chairlift and three t-bars. The difficulty of the slopes is distributed as 15% beginner, 35% intermediate and 50% advanced. Modern grooming equipment is used, and snowmaking facilities operate along the main pistes along the chairlift. Waipara is a small town in north Canterbury, New Zealand, on the banks of the Waipara River. Its name translates to Muddy Water, wai meaning water and para meaning mud. It is at the junction of state highways 1 and 7, 60 kilometres north of Christchurch. It is also situated on the Main North Line railway. Waipara lies at one of the points of the Alpine Pacific Triangle, which also includes the major tourist centers of Hanmer Springs and Kaikoura. Washpen Falls is a true hidden gem of the Canterbury region and a Canterbury must-do! Washpen Falls is found just outside of Methven and involves and 2-hour loop walk through some of the most diverse landscape and sights in New Zealand.

Washpen Falls is a walk on private land with a small entry fee but it’s worth it to see this rugged volcanic canyon rich in Maori history, native forest, exotic forest, lava caves, lava boulders, birdlife, waterfalls and even a lagoon with a rowing boat. For one of the best walks in the South Island, check out Washpen Falls.

The waterfall is only a small highlight in what is one of the most diverse Methven walks. If you are looking for walks in Methven, Washpen Falls is worth considering.

Air New Zealand - Safety Old School Style

This is the latest safety video from Air New Zealand, which is set to roll out on flights from 10 Oct 2013. Air New Zealand has teamed up with America's sweetheart of comedy, Betty White, and a cast of golden oldies for the airline's latest in-flight safety video, Safety Old School Style. The video includes demonstrations of safety procedures that kids of all ages are sure to want to pay attention to when in the air.

Christchurch is the largest city on the South Island of New Zealand, and the country's second-largest urban area with a population of 368,900 . It is one third the way down the South Island's east coast, just north of Banks Peninsula.

The video begins at the Christchurch Gondola which is a spectacular ride far above the city. 4-person cabins lift you gently up to 1500 feet above sea level for stunning 360° views extending over Pegasus Bay and the Pacific Ocean to Kaikoura; over Banks Peninsula, Lake Ellesmere and Lyttleton Harbour, and across the Canterbury Plains to the Southern Alps. Once on top we were perched on the rim of the Mt Cavendish crater. The video concludes in downtown Christchurch along the Avon River and on Cathedral Square.
