RVing At Small Towns In New Zealand | Waimate & Timaru
This is just a 'day-in-the-life' of RVing in New Zealand video. I'm not at the touristy towns, I'm in the normal everyday small kiwi town. I share my impression of town, worry about my recycling and buy some local strawberries. You know, just an average day.
Some of the highlights:
I meet another YouTuber! Jamie from 'Y in the world' visited with his wife and had a look around. I always enjoy hearing other peoples opinions on my caravan.
See Jamies channel here:
I've already appeared in his video here:
While in Timaru, I pop into a caravan dealers after spotting an Airstream. They are a rare sight in NZ and I really wanted a look inside one. Jaiden from Ideal Caravans was extremely helpful and has even been messaging me with fridge tips:

Top 3 THINGS to See in Kerikeri, Bay of Island New Zealand
The Rainbow Falls, Māori name Waianiwaniwa, are a single-drop waterfall located on the Kerikeri River near Kerikeri in New Zealand. Unlike most New Zealand waterfalls which are created by the erosion of soft rock, the Rainbow Falls are sited on a hard basalt layer of rock beside softer mudstone.
Rewa’s Village is a full scale replica of a pre – European Māori fishing village.
Meander around the village, imagining a time before European settlement.
Walk through our native bush and experience the serenity of native bird sounds.
Listen to the tranquil waters of “Te Awa o Ngā Rangatira” river (the river of chiefs) and enjoy the picturesque surroundings of the Kerikeri Basin
The Stone Store, a former storehouse, is the oldest stone building in New Zealand, construction having begun on 19 April 1832. The keystone above the door bearing the date 1833 is thought to have been carved by the stonemason William Parrott who cut the Sydney sandstone in situ, but construction of the building was not actually completed until mid-1836.
Stone was used because the missionaries needed a vermin-free, fireproof area for their supplies and provisions, and for improved security from inquisitive Māori. There was a plan to build a mill where the bridge exists now, and to protect the flour produced from locally grown wheat in the store. But the mill was never built, and the millstones brought out from England went inland to Waimate North instead.
Originally called the Mission House, and then for more than 100 years Kemp House, but now again called Mission House, this is the oldest wooden structure still standing in New Zealand. A much visited and photographed building, it is administered along with the Stone Store by Heritage New Zealand

New Zealand Road Trip 2019
We spent a year living in New Zealand on a working holiday visa, so I thought I'd put together a short Travelling New Zealand film of all the things we did.
If you're interesting in travelling around New Zealand, I would highly recommend it. We rented a camper van and did a road trip around the South Island, stopping at places like Mount Cook, Queenstown, Wanaka, Milford Sound and a ton of other awesome spots.
Other than that, we spent a lot of time on the North Island of New Zealand, living in Wellington. If you're wondering what to do and where to go in New Zealand, feel free to leave a comment and I'll get back to you.

Fixing Freedom Camping Problems In New Zealand With KiwiCamp & KiwiCash
I meet Chris who came up with a great solution to fixing the freedom camping issues we face in New Zealand as more tourists arrive.
What is freedom camping? Freedom camping is the same as the U.S.A. boondocking, i.e. free to stay on public lands.
Chris came up with the idea of KiwiCamp and KiwiCash after campers started staying at his truck stop. It's a great solution to our freedom camping problems and so many other uses too. He created a payment system that doesn't charge tourist those extra banking fees. It's a 'pay for what you need' campground that keeps costs down while supplying the facilities travellers want. It's also all automated so you don't need a receptionist and can keep an eye on things from your phone.
The first half of the video explains how the KiwiCamp and KiwiCash work, then we delve more into how this technology can be used to solve other issues in New Zealand. I really enjoyed chris's positive and 'can do' attitude.
