1. Lac d'Emosson Salvan
Lac d'Émosson is a reservoir in the canton of Valais, Switzerland. It is located in the municipalities of Salvan and Finhaut. The closest small city in Switzerland is Martigny. The lake has a surface area of 3.27 km² and an elevation of 1,930 m. The maximum depth is 161 m. The purpose of the Émosson Dam is hydroelectric power generation. Water from the reservoir first powers the 189 MW Vallorcine Power Station downstream and just over the border in Vallorcine, France. Water is then sent through a headrace tunnel to the 162 MW La Bâtiaz Power Station, 12 km to the east in Martigny, Switzerland. The drop between the dam and La Bâtiaz Power Station is 1,400 m .The first dam of Émosson was built in 1925. The current dam with a height of 180 m was constructed between 1969 and August 1973 ...

Located in the Lauterbrunnen Valley, the creek called Trümmelbach alone drains the glacier defiles of Eiger , Mönch , and Jungfrau and carries more than 20,000 tons of boulder detritus per year.Its drainage area is 24 square kilometres , half of it covered by snow and glaciers. The municipality comprises the major Lauterbrunnen Valley , the Soustal, the Sefinental, the upper Lauterbrunnen Valley with Untersteinberg including several glaciers, such as the Tschingelfirn and the Rottalgletscher, many Alpine meadows and peaks, such as Schilthorn, Bietenhorn, Schwarzmönch, and Silberhorn, and finally the villages Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, Mürren, Gimmelwald, Stechelberg, and Isenfluh, and several hamlets. The population of the village Lauterbrunnen is less than that of Wengen, but larger than that of the others.

2002 August Schweiz Rundfahrt Swiss Roundtrip from Martigny

Im zweiten Teil fahren wir von Martigny, über Le Châtelard nach Chamonix.
In Le Châtelard startet die Standseilbahn als ersten Teil auf den Weg zum Stausee von Emosson.
Wahrscheinlich, weil die Bahn in 2013 technisch überholt wird, kommt man nicht auf die Internet- Seite. 1920 wurde die Bahn gebaut. Sie gilt bei bis zu 87 % Steigerung als steilste Zweikabinen- Standseilbahn. Die Streckenlänge beträgt 1310 Meter. Die Höhendifferenz beträgt 700 Meter.
Die zweite Sektion ist ein 600 mm Feldbahn, welche als Petit train panoramique bezeichnet wird.
Die dritte Sektion ist die Minifunic, eine 900 mm Standseilbahn, die bei einer Streckenlänge von 260 Metern einen Höhendifferenz von 140 Metern überwindet.
In Chamonix fährt die in 1955 gebaute Luftseilbahn auf den Aiguille du Midi auf 3777 Meter und ist die zweit höchste Seilbahn von Europa. Es gibt zwei Sektionen. Die Mittelstation liegt auf 2310 Meter. 2700 Höhenmeter werden überwunden.

In Chatelard the cableway beginns to the reservoir of.Emosson. 1920 the cableway is build. It is the steepest two cabin cableway with gradient of 87 %. The length ist 1310 meter. The high difference is 700 meter.
The 2nd train is a 600 mm light railway. The 3rd train is a 900 mm cableway with a length of 260 meter.
In Chamonix starts the aerial cableway to the Aigui´lle du Midi. The station of the cablecar is on 3777 meter.

Le Creux du Van dans le Canton de Neuchâtel perdu dans le brouillard !

C'est une jolie promenade que l'on peut faire soit en partant depuis le restaurant du Soliat en un peu moins de 10-15 minutes. Une fois arrivé sur le cirque, il y a une vue à couper le souffle avec des falaises de plus de 150m.

Pour ceux qui souhaitent faire une randonnée plus longue, il également possible e partir de la gare CFF de Noiraigue (compter env. 2h00) ou de la Ferme Robert (compter 1h00).
