Starland Ballroom

Sayreville is a borough located on the Raritan River, near the Raritan Bay in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 42,704, reflecting an increase of 2,327 from the 40,377 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 5,391 from the 34,986 counted in the 1990 Census.Sayreville was originally incorporated as a township on April 6, 1876, from portions of South Amboy Township. On April 2, 1919, the borough was reincorporated as the Borough of Sayreville and ratified by a referendum held on April 29, 1919.

1. Starland Ballroom Sayreville
The Starland Ballroom is a concert venue located in Sayreville, Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. Opening night was December 7, 2003 and featured a performance by Van Halen lead singer David Lee Roth. The venue was formerly known as the Hunka Bunka Ballroom, which operated as a dance music club in the 1980s and 1990s, though throughout the 1990s it often hosted concerts, specifically punk and ska lineups. And even before that the building was known as the Jernee Mill Inn, a local bar with a banquet hall that sometimes had bands and was used for rehearsal by John Bongiovi and the Wild Ones and Richie Sambora's band. The building is believed to be the place where hometown stars Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora met in the early 1980s.

Went horseback riding for the first time in years with Andy, Sharon, Marc, Maxine, Rachel and Cliff at Echo Lake Stables in Newfoundland, NJ. We did an hour trail ride ($35) on a beautiful Saturday in August. Really nice staff there and fun time. May go back for some private lessons. (In the video they explain some basics on how to make the horse turn, start and stop, and later on go over the differences between one handed and two handed reining, and also some information about their private lessons.) Tallest, fastest drop tower in the world announced for Six Flags Great Adventure

in 2014, Zumanjaro Drop of Doom will be constructed within the 456 foot tall track of Kingda Ka. Three separate lifts will elevate riders 415 feet in the air before dropping them 90mph.
When constructed it will be the tallest and fastest drop ride in the world. Rolling Thunder, the park's classic wooden coaster, will close Sept. 8 and then dismantled to make room for the new attraction.
