On 10 June 1944, the village of Oradour-sur-Glane in Haute-Vienne in then Nazi-occupied France was destroyed, when 642 of its inhabitants, including women and children, were massacred by a Nazi Waffen-SS company. The men were gunned down with machine guns and then set alight. The Nazis then burned down the village church in which 500 women and children had taken shelter. Every house was then torched to ensure that no one could escape.
A new village was built nearby after the war, but French president Charles de Gaulle ordered the original maintained as a permanent memorial and museum. The village has been left in ruins as a reminder of the horrific deeds humans can commit in times of war.

#8 Trip to Zurich & Basel, Switzerland | by addinaf
December, 2016 Have a really great weekend in Zurich.
July, 2017 Have another great short trip in Basel.
It took 3 - 4 hours to reach Zurich, and plus 1 - 2 hours to go to Basel. I visited both cities by myself, with accompanying from friends (in Zurich). I like Switzerland in general, great experience in Switzerland (despite all the expensive stuff). Hope you enjoy this.
