Weka Pass is a gorge located in the northern Canterbury region of New Zealand's South Island between the towns of Waipara and Waikari. The Waipara River cut the Weka Pass by wearing down the soft limestone and mudstone in the area. Erosion has created a number of distinctive limestone formations in the pass, which are known by descriptive names such as Frog Rock and The Seal. The Pass is home to various species of bird, including the weka, kaka, and kiwi, and was also home to the extinct moa. Māori rock art can be found under a limestone overhang, and it is now the prime attraction of the Weka Pass Historic Park. Māori first explored the area approximately a millennium ago and used the limestone overhang for shelter. Early European explorers utilised the overhang for the same purpose. St...

Ōhinetahi is a valley, historic homestead, and formal garden on Teddington Road, Governors Bay, Christchurch, Canterbury Region, New Zealand. Ōhinetahi valley is situated at the head of Lyttelton Harbour while the Port Hills rise above Ōhinetahi. While the Ōhinetahi Homestead is considered to be a significant historic building in the small settlement of Governors Bay, the formal garden of Ōhinetahi is considered to be one of New Zealand's finest. Amongst the early owners of Ōhinetahi were Canterbury pioneer William Sefton Moorhouse and Thomas Potts, New Zealand's first conservationist. Sir Miles Warren, architect of the Christchurch Town Hall, was the last private owner, and gifted it to New Zealand.

Porters, is a commercial ski resort just over an hour's drive west from Christchurch, in the South Island of New Zealand. Originally functioning as a club skifield, it has one beginner magic carpet, one platter tow, one chairlift and three t-bars. The difficulty of the slopes is distributed as 15% beginner, 35% intermediate and 50% advanced. Modern grooming equipment is used, and snowmaking facilities operate along the main pistes along the chairlift. There is one club-run lodge with 42 beds, situated along on the mountain's access road, said by the company operating the field to be the least intimidating in Canterbury.In 2007 the name of the field changed from Porter Heights to simply Porters to reflect a change in ownership. Beautiful New Zealand | THE PINNACLES

The Pinnacles is one of the most beautiful places in the Coromandel peninsula, New Zealand. The track is about 4 hours (8 hours return) from the parking to the summit of the Pinnacles, where you get the best views of the peninsula. Its moderately challenging, but well worth the beautiful scenery.

There is a hut located about 50 mins from to the summit for those who want to stay there overnight. You can book the hut online, link bellow.
