Waterton Lakes and Glacier National Parks in 4K
Waterton and Glacier International Peace Park in 4K. UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In 1932 Waterton Lakes National Park (Alberta, Canada) was combined with the Glacier National Park (Montana, United States) to form the world's first International Peace Park. Situated on the border between the two countries and offering outstanding scenery, the park is exceptionally rich in plant and mammal species as well as prairie, forest, and alpine and glacial features.
This video was shot in late June 2018. You will also notice the devastation and impact of the 2017 Kenow Wildfire have had on the Waterton Lakes National Park landscape, burning 19303 hectares in the Waterton Lakes area alone. Wildfires occur naturally and fulfill critical ecosystem functions, with the positive ecological effects usually greater than the negative. The economic impact however on the township of Waterton and its people is an important fact to mention and I hope that with this film I can help to showcase this fantastic place and local people and encourage anyone watching this video to visit the wonderful Waterton Lakes National Park and its many attractions and help the local economy recover and thrive.

Glacier International Park?

Sometimes, when I speak with people about the United Nations, some good folks do not believe that the United Nations is a world-governing body.
Here is evidence that the United Nations wants to assume an ownership role, and a management role, in the treasured piece of Montana property known as Glacier National Park.
But that begs a question which most Americans never ask, because most Americans do not bother to study the founding documents which created America. The key is in Article 1, Section 8, of the U.S. Constitution. Glacier park is not a post office, nor is it a postal road, nor a military fort, nor any other type of property the Constitution grants ownership rights to within the boundaries of the several States. Teddy Roosevelt slipped it to the American people with his campaign to create National Parks, and I say it that way because the Damned by God U.S. Federal government is not granted that authority in its founding legal charter -- yet the lazy-minded American people allowed the Federal government to claim this part of Montana as a National park. That is so much bullshit.
Here is one example of why it is bullshit. Not only has the Federal government usurped this land from the State of Montana. The Federal government, having taken possession of Montana's land, has agreed to share it with the Damned by God United Nations.
Concentration of power is antithetical to the original intent of this nation's founders. Anyone want to argue with me about that?

Time to wake up, dear friends. Here is your proof.

Glacier International Peace Park
One of the most beautiful places in North America. At the top of Montana and into Canada. Snow-capped mountains, lush forests, grand vistas and many, many waterfalls.
Glacier National Park is a national of Montana
Glacier National Park is a national park located in the U.S. state of Montana, on the Canada–United States border with the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia. The park encompasses over 1 million acres (4,000 km2) and includes parts of two mountain ranges (sub-ranges of the Rocky Mountains), over 130 named lakes, more than 1,000 different species of plants, and hundreds of species of animals. This vast pristine ecosystem is the centerpiece of what has been referred to as the Crown of the Continent Ecosystem, a region of protected land encompassing 16,000 square miles (41,000 km2).[3]
The region that became Glacier National Park was first inhabited by Native Americans. Upon the arrival of European explorers, it was dominated by the Blackfeet in the east and the Flathead in the western regions. Under pressure the Blackfoot ceded the mountainous parts of their treaty lands in 1895 to the federal government; it later became part of the park. Soon after the establishment of the park on May 11, 1910, a number of hotels and chalets were constructed by the Great Northern Railway. These historic hotels and chalets are listed as National Historic Landmarks and a total of 350 locations are on the National Register of Historic Places. By 1932 work was completed on the Going-to-the-Sun Road, later designated a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark, which provided greater accessibility for automobiles into the heart of the park.
The mountains of Glacier National Park began forming 170 million years ago when ancient rocks were forced eastward up and over much younger rock strata. Known as the Lewis Overthrust, these sedimentary rocks are considered to have some of the finest fossilized examples of extremely early life found anywhere on Earth. The current shapes of the Lewis and Livingston mountain ranges and positioning and size of the lakes show the telltale evidence of massive glacial action, which carved U-shaped valleys and left behind moraines which impounded water, creating lakes. Of the estimated 150 glaciers which existed in the park in the mid-19th century, only 25 active glaciers remained by 2010.[4] Scientists studying the glaciers in the park have estimated that all the glaciers may disappear by 2030 if the current climate patterns persist.
Glacier National Park has almost all its original native plant and animal species. Large mammals such as the Grizzly bears, moose, and mountain goats, as well as rare or endangered species like the wolverines and Canadian lynxes, inhabit this park. Hundreds of species of birds, more than a dozen fish species, and a few reptile and amphibian species have been documented. The park has numerous ecosystems ranging from prairie to tundra. Notably, the easternmost forests of western redcedar and hemlock grow in the southwest portion of the park. Large forest fires are uncommon in the park. However, in 2003 over 13% of the park burned.[5]
Glacier National Park borders Waterton Lakes National Park in Canada—the two parks are known as the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park and were designated as the world's first International Peace Park in 1932. Both parks were designated by the United Nations as Biosphere Reserves in 1976, and in 1995 as World Heritage sites.[6][7] Please subscrible our channel to watch newest uploads.

Waterton | Prince of Wales | Glacier Park Montana US | Travel Videography
Waterton is quiet, uncrowded National Park. The Perfect place to view spectacular scenery, wildlife and enjoy outstanding recreational opportunities. A rare gem tucked into the southwestern corner of the province of Alberta, Canada. In this breathtaking part of the world, the majestic Rocky Mountains rise suddenly out of the rolling prairies. Amid the peaks are the lakes of Waterton Lakes National Park, carved out of the rock by ancient glaciers.
The Prince of Wales Hotel is a historic railroad hotel located in Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta, overlooking Upper Waterton Lake, near the Canada-United States border. Constructed between 1926 and 1927, the hotel was built by the Great Northern Railway The hotel was named after the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII)
Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park is dominated by large fjord-like glacial lakes. For many visitors they are a primary destination. Boating, fishing, or just plain hanging out on the shore and skipping rocks consume many a relaxing hour and are the stuff of magical memories.

Glacier National Park
Glacier National Park is the center of one of the largest and most intact ecosystems in North America. The views from the cliff-strewn Going-to-the-Sun Road over the Continental Divide make a visit worthwhile, but the experience from inside a car or one of the Park's famous Red Jammer buses is just the tip of the icefield. Glacier's one million acres of turquoise alpine lakes, mountain goats and grizzly bears, craggy peaks, and of course, glaciers are almost guaranteed to leave visitors speechless.
Glacier National Park - Montana
Glacier National park was named for the glaciers that carved, sculpted and formed this landscape millions of years ago. Despite the recession of current glaciers, the park's name will not change when the glaciers are gone.
The Going-to-the-Sun Road, over Logan Pass, is considered an engineering feat and is a National Historic Landmark. It is one of the most scenic roads in North America.
Just across the border, in Canada, is Waterton Lakes National Park. In 1932, the United States and Canadian governments voted to designate the parks as Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park, as a symbol of the peace and friendship between the two countries.
The parks were named as a World Heritage Site in 1995. This international recognition highlights the importance of this area, not just to the United States and Canada, but to the entire world.

2W1C S03E50: The First Peace Park (Glacier I)
It's not a good time to find a first-come-first-serve campsite in Glacier National Park. I've been riding ever since I left Pullman Washington several hundred miles across the mountains. It's a little late in the day for that.
Instead I park myself just outside at a nearby campsite so I can find my way in quickly and easily.
This video goes into detail as to how Glacier was founded and how it's also a first-of-its-kind park. It's a peace park, sharing its borders with the Waterton Lakes National Park to the north in Canada.
I'm finally here and ready to ride one of the finest highways in the United States, the Going-To-The-Sun road.
