This full day trip to arthurs pass on this winter season is just tottally wonderfull, you'll find those alpine scenery's to be so much impressive and the walk to the waterfalls is just tottally worth it due to it's jungly souroundings.
Don't miss to check pass by Otira Dock look out where you can find those KEA birds that are staying there.
Note: Please don't feed them and watch out when you are parking or reversing your car because they somewhat love to go under the cars.
Anyway we drove early in the morning from Christchurch and unexpectedly we enjoy the sunrise on the way and guess what!? we also witness the sunset on our way back, daylight saving is good sometimes.

Today we’re taking the TranzAlpine Train in New Zealand! It’s considered one of the world’s most scenic train trips. Watch this video to see what it’s like to take a return journey with the KiwiRail TranzAlpine Train between Christchurch and Greymouth. It’s one of the great ways to travel across the South Island.
Admittedly, there is not much in the way of train travel in New Zealand, but with what New Zealand trains they do have, they are pretty amazing. The New Zealand TranzAlpine goes from Christchurch to Greymouth where the train goes through Arthur’s Pass National Park in the Southern Alps. The Arthur’s Pass train station is one of the stops before travelling through the Otira Tunnel, which is 8.5km long.

TranzAlpine Train Ride. Greymouth to Christchurch.(New Zealand)
The TranzAlpine is a passenger train operated by The Great Journeys of New Zealand in the South Island of New Zealand over the Midland Line; often regarded to be one of the world's great train journeys for the scenery through which it passes.
The journey is 223 kilometres one-way, taking almost five hours. There are 16 tunnels and four viaducts, with the Staircase Viaduct being 75 metres (246 ft) high.
