Kirkbymoorside is a small market town and civil parish in the Ryedale district of North Yorkshire, England, about 25 miles north of York, midway between Pickering and Helmsley, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. 1. Fountains Abbey Ripon
Fountains Abbey is one of the largest and best preserved ruined Cistercian monasteries in England. It is located approximately 3 miles south-west of Ripon in North Yorkshire, near to the village of Aldfield. Founded in 1132, the abbey operated for 407 years becoming one of the wealthiest monasteries in England until its dissolution in 1539 under the order of Henry VIII. The abbey is a Grade I listed building owned by the National Trust and part of the designated Studley Royal Park including the Ruins of Fountains Abbey UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Mountainbiking with DZ in Banff, Alberta, Eh?

I had the day to myself on a nice rental bike in Banff to check out some of the local trails. HAD A BLAST!! Here's some samples of Tunnel Mountain, HooDoos, The Toe and Top Notch Trails. I included whole ride of Star Wars trail since it was short.(starts between minutes 9 and 10) most rides end up with a nice downhill ride back into Banff with lots of options for local brew and nachos postride.
