A great day out hiking on the Pennine Way. Leaving Keld Lodge I head over to Tan Hill, the highest inn in Britain, before taking a very wet route to Bowes.
Lismore Palms Caravan Park
Lismore Palms Caravan Park is on the outskirt of Lismore on the road to Bangalow. A large property with many cabins, onsite vans and powered sites. Plenty of room for camping by the river. Pool.
18th May 2017 35018 British India Line Light engine test
Carrying the number 98818 on the smoke box and cabside and a Bodmin nameplate, 35018 British India Line ventured on to the mainline since 1964 for a light engine test run from Carnforth to Hellifield and back.
It Is seen on the outward leg running sedately through Bentham.
An overheating inside big end meant that a number of stops were made to allow it to cool down.
It is reported that it eventually reached Hellifield and ran back to Carnforth again with a few stops

2017 Grand Pea-Can Tour Day 5 Part 2 Durango Loop
July 5, 2017, day 5 of our Grand Pea-Can Tour. This is the second half of the day. From Ouray we cut over on CO-62 then headed south on the other side of the San Juan Mountains on CO-145. We had a close call on a gravel pullout, more snow-capped mountains and other gorgeous views, before visiting Mesa Verde National Park. This is a fabulously ride, very steep and major switchbacks with views for miles. Then you reach the mesa on top, around 8500 feet elevation, that you can take these offshoot roads to check out dwellings that were carved into the cliffs by the Anasazi (ancient native Puebloans). It was seriously crazy, the dwellings and the twisty section of riding. And there is a tunnel with NO lights that is freaky! It's only 23 miles from the park entrance to the first dwelling, but plan on a couple hours to go up and back, and that was with only a few stops to view the dwellings. On the way back to Durango we managed to skirt the rain, only snagged a few drops at most, then had some great eats in the downtown area (and what a great place to hang out). Another beautiful day in Colorado
