    Okaukuejo is the administrative center for the Etosha National Park in Namibia. It is approximately 650 km from the capital Windhoek. The place normally receives an annual average rainfall of around 350 millimetres , although in the 2010/2011 rainy season 676 millimetres were measured.Originally the western end of the Red Line, a veterinary control demarcation established in 1896, and the site of a German fort built in 1901, Okaukuejo now houses the Etosha Ecological Institute, founded in 1974; the round watchtower is a remnant of the fort. A major draw for tourists is the permanent waterhole, illuminated at night, which draws all types of wildlife, including elephants, lions and black rhinoceros, particularly during the lengthy dry season.     Duwisib Castle, sometimes spelt Duwiseb or Duweseb, is a grand pseudo-medieval looking fortress in the hills of the semi-arid Southern Namib region of Namibia. It was built by 'Baron' Captain Hans Heinrich von Wolf , who was posted to German South-West Africa. After the German-Nama war Captain von Wolf went home to Dresden and married the stepdaughter of the US consul, Miss Jayta Humphreys, on 8 April 1907. They decided to settle in German South-West Africa and bought eight farms in the Maltahöhe area. Eminent architect Wilhelm Sander was commissioned to design a building and construction commenced in 1908.   • 9. Hoba Meteorite Grootfontein
    The Hoba meteorite, short for Hoba West, is a meteorite that lies on the farm of the same name, not far from Grootfontein, in the Otjozondjupa Region of Namibia. It has been uncovered but, because of its large mass, has never been moved from where it fell. The main mass is estimated at more than 60 tonnes, making it the largest known meteorite and larger than the 37-tonne fragment of the Campo del Cielo. It is also the most massive naturally occurring piece of iron known on Earth's surface. The name Hoba comes from Khoekhoegowab word meaning gift.
