With the Knicks having a worse season, they even suck at draft-lottery positioning.
3. Not knowing how to navigate Roosevelt Blvd
Crazy, but Roosevelt Blvd has the #2 and #3 most dangerous intersections in the country.
4. Parking in someone’s saved spot
While Philly’s streets often look like yard sales, especially right before a big storm, that lawn furniture is there for a reason. Only an idiot will try and park in someone's “reserved spot.
5. Swimming in the Schuylkill
Don’t let all of the crew teams fool you; no one should go in that water. Two words: toxic discharge.
6. Checking your bags at Philly airport
There’s a reason that Philadelphia International Airport is ranked one of the worst in North America.
7. Going to the Wing Bowl and expecting to function the next day
Life goals after the Wing Bowl usually involve not leaving your credit card at the strip club and trying not to puke before noon.
8. Assuming there's a speed limit on Kelly or Lincoln Dr
Technically the speed limit is 35, but you wouldn’t know it by the way everyone drives.
9. Being optimistic for the upcoming season
Philadelphia sports teams can rip out a fan’s heart like no other city (okay, outside of Cleveland). You can say we're a beer half-full type of fan base, until the (inevitable) late-season collapse that drives us to chug the whole damn thing.
10. Forgetting your local state store's hours
Closed at 9pm? Or is it 10pm? Open on Sundays? Better check those hours before you try and make a last-minute booze run -- we’ve all made the mistake of trying to go right after closing time.
11. Riding the Erin Express (if you’re older than 30)
There comes a time when you’re too old to ride a school bus, even if that school bus is full of tipsy coeds.
12. Leaving for the Shore during rush hour
Nothing spells weekend buzzkill more than sitting on the AC Expressway while your friends are already drinking on a deck.
13. Living in Fairmount with a car
If you eventually find a parking spot, be prepared to do your best bumper-car routine to get into a space that's a few feet too small.
14. Not having a SEPTA token
Nothing is worse than having to deal with the change machine or the SEPTA booth when trying to catch a last-minute train.
15. Going to the Gold Club
We’ve got nothing against strip clubs -- heck, we’ve even ranked them -- but you can do better than the Gold Club. You get what you pay for.
16. Trying to explain Mummers to an out-of-town friend
There are many things you have to explain to out-of-towners, but here it's better to just hand them a beer and let them enjoy the party.
17. Ignoring Philadelphia history

D.C. really does have a little bit of something for everyone. But there are also a lot of ways you can make a misstep that has an irrevocable impact on your trip. So with that in mind, here are a few things NOT to do while visiting Washington, D.C.
1. Don’t Go During the Summer
It’s hot, muggy, and packed with tourists trying to squeeze in a vacation before their kids head back to school.
It's worth it to take your kids out of school early for a few days. Trust me, there’s more than enough educational opportunities in D.C. to balance out a few missed days.
2. Don’t Drive
Washington D.C.’s metro line is big, clean, and extremely extensive. Anything and everything you could possibly want to reach is about three blocks away from a metro stop (max).Don’t bother with driving a car, the traffic is terrible and the city is confusing as hell to drive in anyway.
3. Don’t Go to Pentagon City
It’s just a huge mall. There’s little cultural significance to it beyond the fact that it’s seriously massive. If you want to get some good shopping done, head to Georgetown. It’s full of funky boutiques you can’t find anywhere else.
4. Don’t Go to Arlington National Cemetery.
Though it’s home to JFK’s crypt and eternal flame, don’t go to a real cemetery in a tourist mindset. It’s rude. Also, the eternal flame isn’t that impressive either.
5. Don’t Spend All Your Time in the Smithsonian
If you can afford to spend an entire month in the city, then by all means take your time but, if you’re in town for a week, make sure to hit one or two interesting branches of the Smithsonian, but keep some hours open to simply wander around.
6. Don’t Rely Too Heavily on Your Plans
For everything in Washington, D.C. that you know you want to do (hit the Lincoln Memorial, see the White House, etc.) there are ten things in the city that you didn’t know existed.
7. Don’t Go To the National Mall on the Weekend
The place is crawling with locals and tourists alike, who are wandering around in a daze just gumming up the works. The National Mall on a Tuesday is perfect.
8. Don’t Pass Up the E Street Cinema
Tucked into an expansive basement in the middle of the city’s commercial district, the E Street Cinema is always playing the newest and most exciting works of independent and foreign cinema. Seriously, if you’re a cinephile, it’s not something to be missed.

TOP 5 PLACES FOR FIRST TIME TRAVELLERS
Here is a list that I put together of my top 5 places I think first timer travellers should go.
5 – Cambodia – Probably not the first place you think of when you’re planning on booking a world trip, but believe you me it is truly an amazing place. From the amazing temples such as ankor wat and ankor tom to the surprisingly nice street food available across the country. Still very much an Asian country it’s a must visit before its becomes westernised .
4 – Australia – One of the many typical traveller “go to’s”. Australia is hot and anyone who tells you otherwise is a moron, make sure you take plenty of sun cream. But aside from that, to get the best of Australia you need to stop in some of the smaller places like Hervey Bay and Port Lincoln, here is where you’ll see more of the Australia you had in mind. Spare a thought for Melbourne, it’s the best city in Oz by far.
3 – Thailand – Travller destination 101 and its hard to argue that. After all its one of the cheapest places I have ever been, and home to some of the world’s most beautiful places such as mai bay, wat pho and and the kings place grounds. Come nightfall the place comes alive, heaving with bars, nightclubs and the odd lady(boy).
2 – Singapore – Some people may wonder why is Singapore is on this is, but for me it has to be. So much to see and do in such a small place. Marvel at the sight of marina bay sands or take a trip to the smaller districts like little India and kamp on glam. With amazing food and wonderful sights I personally would love to live in Singapore.
1 – New Zealand – My favorite place that I visited along my travels was New Zealand. Nowhere else had I seen such constant beauty. Waterfalls, mountains and lakes in every direction. If you ever visit New Zealand make sure you visit Queenstown, one of the best cities in the world, skydive, bungee, drink, party and home of the worlds best burger.
