The Canary Islands are a Spanish archipelago in the Atlantic Ocean, just off Morocco in North Africa. Formed by volcanic eruptions and shaped by hot desert winds, they are comprised of 7 main islands.

Gran Canaria - Destination for tourists
Gran Canaria is one of the top tourist destinations of Europe especially those that come from the northern countries and Germany.
Tourist are welcomed to Gran Canaria anytime of the year since there is a well prepared infrastructure to cover all needs any tourist may have when they visit Gran Canaria.
Though one thing to take into account is that foreign tourists choose to come during the winter to get out of the cold temperatures their country may have. Spanish tourists rather come in the summer because it is the most usual period that spanish people go on vacation.
Other kind of tourist that have been coming to Gran Canaria lately are the digital nomads. The capital city of the island is a perfect destination for digital nomads since there are plenty of coworking spaces to work from.
One cool thing about Gran Canaria and one of the main reasons why tourist decide to go there is their prices. Gran Canaria has lower taxes because they are far from the Spanish peninsula and it makes it easier to import and export products. Spain in general is cheaper than other countries but Gran Canaria can be even cheaper.
