Cermenate is a comune in the Province of Como in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 25 kilometres north of Milan and about 13 kilometres south of Como. Cermenate borders the following municipalities: Bregnano, Cantù, Carimate, Lazzate, Lentate sul Seveso, Vertemate con Minoprio. Cermenate is served by Cantù-Cermenate railway station. Lake Orta is a lake in northern Italy, west of Lake Maggiore. It has been so named since the 16th century, but was previously called the Lago di San Giulio, after Saint Julius , the patron saint of the region. Its southern end is about 35 kilometres by rail, to the northwest of Novara on the main Turin-Milan line, while its north end is about 6 kilometres by rail south of the Gravellona-Toce railway station, halfway between Ornavasso and Omegna. Its scenery is characteristically Italian, while the San Giulio island has some very picturesque buildings, and takes its name from the local saint, who lived in the 4th century. A Couple of Boring Hours at Prato Centrale

Prato is in Tuscany not too far from Florence. I thought I would see some freight action here, but during several hours there was only one freight. There was MofW work being done between Bologna and Prato and I think that had a bearing on it. We were delayed 10 minutes because of it. On the return to Bologna we passed 3 freights. So, this is rather boaring.
