Montorfano is a town and comune in the province of Como, part of Lombardy, in northern Italy. It is situated about 5 kilometres south of Como, which is at the southern tip of Lake Como, puse40 kilometres north of Milan. It has about 2,500 inhabitants. The main attractions of Montorfano are its own very small lake and the Circolo Golf Villa d'Este, one of the main Italian golf courses.

Il lago di Alserio è situato a 262 metri sul livello del mare in provincia di Como, Brianza, Lombardia, Italia. Ha una superficie di 1,23 km quadrati ed è compreso nei comuni di Erba, Albavilla, Alserio e Monguzzo, fa parte del Parco Regionale della Valle del Lambro e lungo la riva orientale è situata la Riserva Regionale del Lago di Alserio. Nella stessa zona si trovano i laghi di Como, di Montorfano, del Segrino, di Pusiano, di Annone, di Lecco e di Garlate. Alserio è un comune di 1157 abitanti, dove si trova uno dei rari accessi pubblici al lago, per la maggior parte seminascosto da canneti e alberi. Si avverte la mancanza almeno di una pista ciclopedonale che ne completi tutto il perimetro, soprattutto sulla sponda settentrionale.
