Hancock is a town, which is found in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, United States. When you think about Hancock, think about Norman Rockwell's now-classic illustrations of robust Americana who often drew their inspiration from a cultural palette nurtured by the creatively fertile hills of Massachusetts' well-known Berkshires. The area of the Berkshires is collectively known as America's premier cultural resort, as they are so grand, with so many things available you can do outdoors.
The region's natural beauty is largely what attracts so many artists here in the first place, with scenes to paint, photograph, and draw. Folks from points near and far, both in the country and from outside the country make the trip to Northwestern Massachusetts to take in culture rich performing arts, to view the ever changing galleries, and the history in the museums. Many also come to enjoy the Berkshires' natural beauty a scenic grace that historically lures many artists looking to unleash their creative genius, or to get their start in the arts. Jiminy Peak is visible from nearly every point in town. Skiers flock to Hancock when the snow starts to fly to start the season all over again. During the other seasons, biking, hiking and shopping are all popular activities that are found in Hancock. What you might be surprised about is that Hancock is just 113 miles from New York City.
Bentley Brook, located in the Jiminy Peak ski area, offers a variety of on-site amenities -- from downhill skiing to swimming and biking. The Berkshire area also provides a vast array of cultural and historic attractions. Visit Tanglewood, summer home for the Boston Symphony, The Hancock Shaker Village, Williamstown Theater, and Norman Rockwell Museum. Since the turn of the century, the Berkshires have been the place for music, theater, dance, and the arts. Don't miss the spectacular autumn foliage in the area, vibrant in color. A car is recommended to enjoy the area.
Pedestal Rocks Scenic Area - Arkansas
On day 4 of our Arkansas Adventure we go hiking at Pedestal Rock Scenic Area. The trail follows this set of bluffs around so there is ample opportunity for good fun! Then we head off for Sam's Throne to do a little outdoor bouldering. It was a little bit windy for the drone but the Spark is always a champ and can fight any wind.
