Gansu is a province of the People's Republic of China, located in the northwest of the country. It lies between the Tibetan and Loess plateaus, and borders Mongolia, Inner Mongolia, and Ningxia to the north, Xinjiang and Qinghai to the west, Sichuan to the south, and Shaanxi to the east. The Yellow River passes through the southern part of the province. Gansu has a population of 26 million and covers an area of 453,700 square kilometres .   • 1. Dongfanghong Square Lanzhou
    Dong Fang Hong Square is a large square and park in Lanzhou, China. It is located centrally in the city. On the west side, a stadium is located and on the east side the Guofang Department Store mall is located. The square was given its current name 1968, with fountains and grass patches added in 1981. The stadium on the west side was built in 1984. In 1993, a partially underground shopping mall was constructed, and the square was enlarged. It maximum width is 638 metres from east to west, 155 metres from north to south, with a total surface area of 92,172 square metres .
