— About Exploring Colombia —
Colombia, a country which many only know because of it’s violent past, has been on my list since I went to South America for my first long-term trip in 2012. 6 Years later and with 5 weeks to spend it was finally time to properly explore my country number 9 on the continent.
For the first part of the trip I’ll be traveling with my mate David to the historical city of Cartagena, some picturesque Carribean islands and to the city of Medellin where we get to learn about the violent past and the transformation of the country. After a few days in the capital Bogota I’ll be joined by my good friend Stefan to learn salsa and take on some outdoor adventures in Cali before heading up to Santa Marta where we checkout the most beautiful beaches, float down rivers and hike through the mountains.

Top 5 things to do in Cali : Colombia Travel Vlog Ep 8
Cali (not California) is a beautiful city in Colombia. It's known as the salsa capital of the world, but there are plenty of other unique things to do here.
Here are my top 5 things to do in Cali, Colombia:
1. Take a Salsa Class
La Topa Tolondra offers a free salsa class on Monday nights 7pm - 9pm (the class is free but they charge 5,000COP ($2USD) entry fee)
2. Cerro De Las Tres Cruces
Hike up here for a beautiful view of the city.
3. Try a fresh Cholado
Yummmmm
4. Play Rana
Ask a local where you can find a place to play rana and they will point you in the right direction.
5. Dance at La Loma de la Cruz
Every Thursday night from 7pm - 9pm there is a giant group of people dancing. Just jump right in and follow along. It's a great experience!

Tourism in Colombia - Best Tourist Attractions
Tourism in Colombia - Best Tourist Attractions
Colombia, officially the Republic of Colombia, is a country largely situated in the northwest of South America, with territories in Central America. Colombia shares a border to the northwest with Panama, to the east with Venezuela and Brazil and to the south with Ecuador and Peru. It shares its maritime limits with Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, Jamaica, Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The sovereign state of Colombia is a unitary, constitutional republic comprising thirty-two departments.
Colombia has been inhabited by various indigenous peoples since 12,000 BCE, including the Muisca, Quimbaya, and the Tairona. The Spanish arrived in 1499 and by the mid-16th century conquered and colonized much of the region, establishing the New Kingdom of Granada, with Santafé de Bogotá as its capital. Independence from Spain was achieved in 1819, but by 1830 the Gran Colombia Federation was dissolved, with what is now Colombia and Panama emerged as the Republic of New Granada. The new nation experimented with federalism as the Granadine Confederation (1858), and then the United States of Colombia (1863), before the Republic of Colombia was finally declared in 1886. Panama seceded in 1903. Since the 1960s, the country has suffered from an asymmetric low-intensity armed conflict, which escalated in the 1990s but then decreased from 2005 onward.
Colombia is one of the most ethnically and linguistically diverse countries in the world, with its rich cultural heritage reflecting various European, Middle Eastern, African, and indigenous influences. Its urban centres are mostly located in the highlands of the Andes mountains and the Caribbean coast.
Colombian territory also encompasses Amazon rainforest, tropical grassland and both Caribbean and Pacific coastlines. Subsequently, it is one of the world's 17 megadiverse countries, and the most densely biodiverse of these per square kilometer.
Colombia is a middle power and regional actor in Latin America, with the fourth-largest economy. It is part of the CIVETS group of six leading emerging markets and is a member of the UN, the WTO, the OECD, the OAS, the Pacific Alliance, and other international organizations. Colombia has a diversified economy with macroeconomic stability and favorable growth prospects in the long run.

Granada Spain La Alhambra & Albaicin World Heritage Sites 4K
Granada Spain The Alhambra & Albaicin World Heritage Sites 4K
Traveling through Granada Spain we visited two sites that are historical heritage of humanity declared by UNESCO, these sites in Granada Spain are the Alhambra and the neighborhoods of Albaicin and Sacromonte, or as they prefer to call and write the Arabs of the first: the Albayzin
In our next video we will show you the Mirador de San Nicolas in Granada, located in the Albaicín neighborhood that shows a beautiful view of the Alhambra in Granada.
The Barrio del Albaicín is characterized by its narrow and meandering streets that back us in the past, beautifully decorated with colorful flowers.
There in the neighborhood of the Albaicin is the Mirador de San Nicolas where a spectacular view of the Alhambra of Granada is contemplated, whose architecture resembles more a palace than the fortress for which it was originally built due to its strategic location in the place , The Alhambra is beautifully decorated in Islamic architecture whose images we show in this video.

Welcome to Colombia
In traveling Colombia, you cannot miss visiting Guatape, a town approximately two hours from Medellin that holds the title of being Colombia’s most colorful town. Located on the shores of a sprawling barrier lake. Guatape, Colombia is known for its traditional and vibrant illustrations that cover the buildings in unique images of animals, people, and shapes. Its borders are the towns of Alexandria, San Rafael, San Carlos, Granada and El Peñol.
To go to Guatapé the easiest way is by bus taken in Medellín. This town offers religious tourism, agritourism and ecotourism, as it has both historical and artistic Colombian patrimony, as well as ecological destinations. Some of them are churches as Nuestra Señora del Carmen or the monastery of Los Monjes Benedictinos, the Street of Remembrance (La Calle del Recuerdo), among others. In its ecological destination are the recreational park La Culebra, the Malecón and of course, La Piedra del Peñol, or the big stone.
