24 Hours at the Harz Mountains - Germany

Special thanks to Phil for providing a lot of the footage (GoPro Fusion, DJI Spark and Canon 5D MkIII gear) in this video! It wouldn't have had the same result without it!
Places we visited:
Roßtrappe
Titan Hängebrücke
Drei Annen Hohne
Bismarckturm
We only had 24 hours! It all started with a hike on top of a rocky mountain surrounded only by an endless pine forest and the shiny sunset illuminating us at its best time of the day. Later, a trip through the pine forest led us to the biggest hanging bridge in Europe. The fear of passing through this bridge was nothing compared to the fear of bungee jumping in the middle of it, like Phil did. Hours later we were following by air an old steam train crossing through the huge forest and leaving only a smoke trail on top of the pines. At the end, a 33 degree Celsius mountain hike was well worth the amazing view from the top of the tower showing us a landscape that we'll never forget. This is the story of my most recent video at the Harz Mountains in Germany.
Camera gear:
Canon 6D and 5D MkIII as the main cameras

Places to see in ( Dortmund - Germany )
Places to see in ( Dortmund - Germany )
Dortmund is a city in Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia region. It's known for its Westfalen Stadium, home to the Borussia soccer team. Nearby Westfalen Park is marked by the Florian Tower, with its observation platform. The Dortmund U-Tower is topped by a huge letter U and houses Museum Ostwall’s contemporary art exhibits. Rombergpark botanical garden has local trees and greenhouses with cacti and tropical plants.
Football (soccer) is a major Dortmund passion. Borussia Dortmund, the city’s Bundesliga (premier league) team, has won the national championships an impressive eight times. So it's actually quite appropriate that Dortmund was chosen as the site of the German Football Museum, which opened in 2015. Other attractions include several treasure-filled churches and high-calibre art museums.
As the largest city in the Ruhrgebiet, Dortmund once built its prosperity on coal, steel and beer. These days, the mines are closed and the steel mills quiet, with more zeitgeist-compatible high-tech industries having taken their place. Only the breweries are going as strong as ever, churning out oceans of beer and ale, much of it for export.
The city popping up first when people think of the Ruhr valley and that's no surprise. Being the largest Ruhr City, it is also the third largest by population after Cologne and Duesseldorf and the geographical center of the State North Rhine-Westphalia . Worldwide the City is foremost know for Beer (pale export/lager beer called Dortmunder) and the famous sports club Ballspielverein Borussia 09, Borussia Dortmund or BVB fort short. However, the city is so much more than the reputation (Football, Beer and Industry) and has itself no need to shy away from the Cities on the Rhine. And yes, the city is no classy beauty and rough at first glance, though pretty honest, adorable and cordially at the second.
Founded around 882, Dortmund became an Imperial Free City. Throughout the 13th to 14th centuries, it was the chief city of the Rhine, Westphalia, the Netherlands Circle of the Hanseatic League. After the Thirty Years' War the city was destroyed and decreased in significance until the onset of industrialization. The city then became one of Germany's most important coal, steel and beer centres. Dortmund acquired the nickname Stahlstadt (Steel City) in the 19th century, when it became the world center of steel production. Consequently the city was one of the most heavily bombed cities in Germany during World War II. The devastating bombing raids of 12 March 1945 destroyed 98% of buildings in the inner city center. This bombing raids with more than 1,110 aircraft was a record to a single target in World war II.The region has adapted since the collapse of its century long steel and coal industries and shifted to high technology biomedical technology, micro systems technology and also services.

Places to see in ( Bochum - Germany )
Places to see in ( Bochum - Germany )
Bochum is a city in western Germany. The German Mining Museum chronicles Bochum’s history of mining and steel production. The museum's winding tower offers city views. The Bochum Art Museum exhibits Eastern European and modern art. Inside the landscaped Stadtpark, Tierpark und Fossilium is a zoo with a fossil collection. Nearby, the Zeiss Planetarium offers astronomy shows.
Wedged between Dortmund and Essen, Bochum doesn't have the football fame of the former or the urbanity of the latter, but it does have soul. Just listen to the 1984 song 'Bochum', a heartfelt anthem penned by acclaimed German singer-songwriter Herbert Grönemeyer about his home town. Though indeed no beauty, as one of Grönemeyer's lyrics says, Bochum is a Ruhrgebiet nightlife hub with a huge university and an extensive green belt hugging the Ruhr River.
Bochum is part of the Ruhr Area (Ruhrgebiet), the centre of heavy industry in Germany. Its history is linked closely to the one of the region. In 1850, Bochum was a small town of about 4500 Inhabitants, its population increased, being 1900 to 100 000 inhabitants and in 1935 had 300 000 inhabitants. During World War II, its center was nearly completely destroyed, which provided the opportunity to rebuild the city after the war in a metropolitan way with wide streets and modern buildings. With the end of the coal boom in the 1960s, a structural transformation began. Bochum got the first university of the Ruhr Area, which was opened in 1965. Today it is one of the largest universities of the country with about 35 000 students and excellent reputation. Also in the 1960s, the Opel car production plant became productive and offered jobs for miners who had lost their jobs in mining. Mining and steel production came to an end in the 1980s.
Today Bochum is a modern city with a job focus in service sector.
Bochum is situated at the borderline between the flat Münsterland in the north and the highlands of Bergisches Land in the south. Therefore, the northern part of Bochum is quite flat, the highest hill is the Tippelsberg. The southern limits of Bochum touch the Ruhr valley with lake Kemnade.
In the 19th century, industrialization began in the valley of Ruhr and moved in the following years northwards. Left was an environment in nearly good order. The valley of Ruhr is a recreation area for the population. The Ruhr is water reservoir for the region, therefore the rules for keeping the water clean are quite restrict. Swimming is forbidden in the Kemnade, swimming in the Ruhr is permitted but not recommended because of strong flow. Pleasure boats are allowed everywhere. Like most cities in the Ruhr Area the southern quarters are of high standard and are quite expansive while factories will be found mainly in the northern quarters.
