Our visit Venice travel guide covers some of the top attractions including a food guide to local Italian food, top sightseeing tourist attractions and the city by day and by night including visiting cathedrals, canals, ruins and islands. We cover activities you won't find in a typical Venice tourism brochure, Venice itinerary or Venice, Italy city tour also known as Venezia Italia.
20 Things to do in Venice, Italy Travel Guide Video Transcript: (VENEZIA ITALIA):
We’re taking you on a whirlwind tour of Venice in winter visiting the famed Floating City. Join us as we show you the best things to see, do and eat in Venice.
The Vaporetto is Venice’s water bus service. The standard ticket is 7.50 Euros and valid for 60 minutes, the 1 day pass is 20 Euros and valid for 24 hours.
The most visited attraction in Venice: Piazza San Marco where there is quite a bit to see and do around the square beginning with St Mark’s Basilica.
St Mark’s Campanile, a tall brick bell tower was once used by approaching ships as a beacon to guide them home where you get great views of the city.
Then you have the Doge’s Palace, which was the residence of the Doge of Venice, the ruler of the former Republic of Venice built in the Venetian Gothic style.
Don't forget the Bridge of SIghs, whose name refers to the sighs of prisoners who would get their last glimpse of Venice as they were led from Doge's Palace to their cells.
Across to the other side of the Grand Canal, you have the Basilica of Saint Mary of Health and the Galleria dell’Accademia in case you’re in the mood for art.
A restaurant we really enjoyed La Zucca - a place where all the dishes are made with pumpkin! The Rialto Market specializes in produce and fresh seafood for self-catering.
Let’s talk about island hopping in Venice:
Founded in the 5th century, Torcello is even older than Venice and was the original settlement in the Venetian Lagoon with lots of walking paths, nature and Byzantine mosaics.
Burano is known for its lace work and brightly coloured homes with plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops to browse.
Mazzorbo island sits next to Burano and is connected by a bridge while being known for its vineyards and orchards.
Murano is renowned for its glass production dating back to 1291 when the glassmakers in Venice were forced to relocate by the Venetian government.
Lido is an 11-kilometre sandbar island that shelters the lagoon from the Adriatic Sea with beaches, lots of seaside homes, and this is also where the Venice Film Festival takes place.
A restaurant we liked in Venice is Osteria Mocenigo specializing in local cuisine. Try the “Sarde in saor” - a typical Venetian dish made with sardines.
While your vaporetto pass is valid ride the canals at night and watch the Floating City come to life.
We hope you enjoyed this Venice travel guide and that it gave you a few ideas for your own trip.

(Thank you to record the video) Lake Como, also known as Lake Lario, is the third largest in Italy, after Lake Garda and Lake Maggiore. It is a picturesque lake and one of the three great lakes of northern Italy located entirely in Lombardy. It has the shape of an upside down Y, with three branches, with the town of Colico in the north, in the Como and Lecco Southwest in the Southeast. Places to see in ( Macerata - Italy )
Places to see in ( Macerata - Italy )
Macerata is a city and comune in central Italy, the county seat of the province of Macerata in the Marche region. Together with the modern town, sprawling on the plain below the historic centre, it has a population of about 43,000. The historical city centre is on a hill between the Chienti and Potenza rivers. It first consisted of the Picenes city named Ricina (Helvia Recina), then, after its romanization, Recina and Helvia Recina. After the destruction of Helvia Recina by the barbarians, the inhabitants took shelter in the hills and eventually began to rebuild the city, first on the top of the hills, before descending again later and expanding. The newly rebuilt town was Macerata. It became a municipality (or comune in Italian) in August 1138.
The town counts several hamlets (frazioni) and localities: Acquesalate, Acquevive, Botonto San Giacomo, Botonto Sant'Isidoro, Cervare, Cimarella, Cincinelli, Collevario, Colleverde, Consalvi, Corneto, Helvia Recina, Isola, Madonna del Monte, Montanello, Piediripa, Sforzacosta, Valle, Vallebona, Valteia, Villa Potenza. In July and August the Sferisterio Opera Festival is held in the 2,500 seat Arena Sferisterio. It is a huge neoclassical arena erected in the 1820s as a stadium for a form of handball by the architect Ireneo Aleandri. The orchestra pit is so wide that musicians at each end cannot hear each other.
In the central Piazza della Libertà is the Loggia dei Mercanti with two-tier arcades dating from the Renaissance. There are a number of striking palazzi, mostly along Corso Matteotti, including Palazzo dei diamanti. Next to the Loggia dei Mercanti, Corso della Repubblica leads to Piazza Vittorio Veneto where, in the Palazzo Ricci, there is a modern art gallery. Another museum that is definitely worth a visit is Palazzo Buonaccorsi where you can see the amazing Eneide Hall (a gallery with paintings and frescoes from the 18th century) and the Carriages Museum. Soon the building will host the city Art Gallery with its most important artpiece, the Madonna and Child by Carlo Crivelli.
The University of Macerata was founded in 1290 and has about 13,000 students; Macerata also has an art school, two publishing houses (Liberilibri and Quodlibet), jazz clubs and the like. The Palazzo Buonaccorsi was built in 1700–1720 for Count Raimondo Buonaccorsi and his son Cardinal Simone Buonaccorsi using designs by Giovanni Battista Contini. The piano nobile is known for the Sala dell'Eneide, decorated with frescoes by Rambaldi, Dardani, Solimena, and canvases by Garzi and Giovanni Gioseffo dal Sole. Just north of the town, at the Villa Potenza, lie the remains of ancient Helvia Recina, a Roman settlement destroyed by the Visigoths.
Among the churches in the town are:
Macerata Cathedral: built in Neoclassical style in 1771–1790; it has the remains of a 15th-century Gothic bell tower. The interior was designed by Cosimo Morelli.
San Claudio al Chienti: Romanesque church south of the Town. Its unusual shape is due to one church being built on the remains of another. It was built during the 14th century as war reparation to Montolmo (today's Corridonia), which defeated Macerata in a bloody and long war. San Claudio al Chienti is very close to Macerata, but it has been a frazione of Corridonia since that time.
San Filippo Neri
San Giorgio
Santa Maria della Misericordia
Santo Stefano

The Isola Bella, Lake Maggiore, located in about 400 meters offshore from Stresa, is part of the Borromean Islands (apart from this we recall the Isola Madre and Isola dei Pescatori). This is the second area with its 320 meters long and 180 wide, almost entirely occupied by the Palazzo Borromeo and its lush park.
Isola Bella: the story
In 1632 Carlo III Borromeo decided to start building a palace for his wife Isabella d'Adda, chose a nude island placed in front of Stresa, Verbano where it flows into the Gulf of the river Toce. The work suffered a setback in mid-seventeenth century because of the plague developed in the duchy of Milan, but were resumed with renewed vigor by the sons of Charles III: Cardinal Giberto III (1615-1672) and especially V italiano VI ( 1620-1690). This had the merit to entrust the completion of the work of the famous Roman architect Carlo Fontana.
The opening of the gardens instead of 1671, with Charles IV (1657-1734) scholar and art lover himself. In the late eighteenth / early nineteenth century, the palace was visited by Napoleon and Josephine de Beauharnais and Princess of Wales, Caroline Amelia of Brunswick.
The palace and gardens: a visit to Isola Bella
Baroque-style shades Mannerist, the imposing building that occupies almost the entire island was designed by the most famous architects of the time. The interior is elegant and luxuriously furnished houses an unmissable collection of tapestries, Flemish tapestries. The underground chambers, however, are characterized according to the fashion of the time of artificial caves with walls encrusted with shells and decorated with mirrors and black marble nymphs.
More information about Palazzo Borromeo in the card.
But what really stands out and leaves you speechless is the famous park: a formal garden terraces composed of ten overlapping truncated pyramid, adorned with statues, fountains, rare shrubs, exotic plants and flowers in delicate scents such as magnolia and camellias . The top of the gardens, nicknamed bowl to the representations that were held here, is surmounted by the unicorn, coat of arms of the Borromeo family.

Our visit Dubrovnik travel guide covers some of the top attractions including a food guide to local Croatian food, top sightseeing tourist attractions and the city by day and by night including visiting the old city walls, palaces, cathedrals, island hopping and more. We cover activities you won't find in a typical Dubrovnik tourism brochure, Dubrovnik itinerary or Dubrovnik, Croatia city tour also known as Grad Dubrovnik Hrvatska.
20 Things to do in Dubrovnik, Italy Travel Guide Video Transcript: (Grad Dubrovnik Hrvatska):
Is there a more visually stunning city than Dubrovnik? Nicknamed the Pearl of the Adriatic, this destination is sure to capture your gaze. Between it’s white limestone buildings, bright terracotta rooftops and cobalt blue waters that sparkle under the sunlight you'll be dazzled during your visit. This was the final stop of our travels in Croatia, and what a way to finish of our trip.
We walked up, down, and around the Old Town clocking thousands of steps each day, and in this video we’re going to take you on a tour of of the city and show you 15 things to do in Dubrovnik.
We entered the Old Town through Ploće Gate, which is in the east end of the city strolling along the Old Port. We explored the Old Town on foot visiting Dubrovnik Cathedral, which at one point was even funded by England’s King Richard the Lionheart, after he was saved from a shipwreck on the nearby island of Lokrum.
We wandered over to Gundulić Square where a few vendors had set up for the day to sniff out a few treats. We stopped at Big Onofrio Fountain, which was built in 1438 as part of a water system that supplied water from a spring 12km away.
Then, another attraction unexpectedly caught our attention: The Old Pharmacy at the Franciscan Monastery.
Founded in the year 1317, this in-house pharmacy was set up by Franciscan friars and would go on to service the town as well as people living beyond the walls. There’s still a pharmacy within the monastery today.
We tried to visit the Rector’s Palace, which was built in the late 15th century for the elected rector who governed Dubrovnik, but it was under renovation.
A sightseeing boat tour called the “Panorama Excursion” departed from the Old Port and went out around Lokrum Island.
We decided to eat at Mea Culpa, and ordered one Dalmatian Pizza and one Seafood Pizza.
It was time for the main attraction: walking around Dubrovnik’s Old City walls. Admission is 150 kuna for a 2 kilometres walk that takes about 1 hour to complete.
The first set of walls were built in the 9th century, and then in the 14th century these were strengthened with forts along the circumference. This attraction is worth the price tag. From here you can admire the all of the old town, gaze at the shimmering waters of the Adriatic, and look out to the neighbouring Lokrum.
After that quick ice cream break, we walked over to Fort Lovrijenac, also known as St. Lawrence Fortress.
Perched on a cliff 37 meters above the sea, this fortress dominates sea and land entrances from the western side of the city.
We made a stop at Buza Bar, which is great place for drinks anytime of day, but especially so around sunset. Gradac Park, was also used as one of the Game of Thrones filming locations, so you may recognize it from the Purple Wedding.
That’s a wrap for Dubrovnik and the rest of our time in Croatia! We hope this video gave you ideas of some of the things you can do in Dubrovnik on your own visit.
This is part of our Travel in Croatia video series showcasing Croatian food, Croatian culture and Croatian cuisine.
