Waddesdon Manor is a country house in the village of Waddesdon, in Buckinghamshire, England. It is located in the Aylesbury Vale, 6.6 miles west of Aylesbury. The Grade I listed house was built in the Neo-Renaissance style of a French château between 1874 and 1889 for Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild as a weekend residence for grand entertaining and as a setting for his collection. The last member of the Rothschild family to own Waddesdon was James de Rothschild . He bequeathed the house and its contents to the National Trust. It consists of a ring of standing stones, with each standing stone around 13 feet high, 7 feet wide and weighing around 25 tons. The park holds over 165 species of exotic animals, among other attractions such as a small theme park. Drifting boat on the Oxford Canal & oak doors

Continuing south down the Oxford Canal I had to stop due to a drifting boat and we take a look at the style of my side and stern door inserts I'm having on my narrowboat.

A time-lapse Narrowboat trip on the Oxford Canal. Starting just above Kings Sutton lock, I head northwards to Banbury. On the way I travel through Twyford and then Grants lock (look out for the crayfish on the lock gate!). After passing under the M40 motorway bridge, I moor up on the outskirts of Banbury, near bridge 170.

21/06/2015 A Time-lapse Narrowboat Trip on the Oxford Canal - Lower Heyford to Heyford Common Lock

A time-lapse Narrowboat trip on the Oxford Canal. Starting in The Cleeves (a wooded area) near Lower Heyford, I head northwards and pass through Lower Heyford and Upper Heyford. On the way I have to operate a lift-bridge single handed, and go through Allens Lock. The trip finishes just below Heyford Common Lock.
