TAROKO NATIONAL PARK DAY TRIP FROM HUALIEN! | Taroko Vlog
Taroko National Park is Taiwan's most famous and popular National Parks. I stayed in the City of Hualien on the East of Taiwan for 2 nights and took a day trip to Taroko National Park.
It's popular to visit Taroko by Moped or Car but because I was travelling alone I decided to visit using the Public Bus.
I caught the bus at 8:30am in Hualien and headed straight to Taroko Visitor Centre. During my day in Taroko National Park I did 4 walks:
Shakadang Trail
Swallows Gorge
Heliu Camping to Lushui
Lushui to Tianxiang
I took the public bus between most of these trails too making the National Park much more accessible to a solo traveller in Taiwan like me!
I enjoyed the National Park, it wasn't the best day hiking I've ever had but I'm glad I got to see it. If I was to do it again I'd go on a moped or in a car with a group of people.
I stayed at World Inn Hostel in Hualien which I really liked and would recommend!

San Qing Shan in China
San Qing Shan, China.
San Qing Mountain is a renowned Taoist Mountain located 50 miles north from Yushan, Jiangxi Province of the China with an outstanding scenery. San Qing literally mean 'three distincts' in Mandarin as the San Qing Mountatin is made up of three main summits: the Yujing Mountain, Yushui Mountain and Yuhua Mountain.
In 1995, a cable car was built to take tourists up to about 1,600 meters high. From 1,600 meters to the peak, a concrete path was built along the rock cliff. Walking on the path is an exciting experience. On one side the cliffs rise straight high above you, while on the other side a deep valley falls down directly below you.

Taipei, Taiwan--Sept 2010
We really enjoyed our time in Taipei and the surrounding area. Angus really piled on the places to visit, but Andy made it all work. The countryside and mountains were great. Indigenous People were very welcoming, beach was very nice. River boat ride and fireflies were impressive. Every meal was placed on the now infamous Lazy Susan.
American Chinese food is NOT the same as Chinese food in Taipei. I actually got pretty good with chop sticks, and better at asking questions. Great experience.
An amazing part of the world.
