With a population of slightly more than 10 million, North Carolina is the 9th largest state in the U.S. by population.
This is the birthplace of Pepsi, Krispy Kreme and Cheerwine, and as far as living goes, it is as good a state as it gets.
The weather is mild and the residents enjoy all four distinct seasons in their full splendour.
The state has a diverse range of geographical features that make it a feast for the outdoor lover.
To the west lies its spectacular mountains, with the Piedmont occupying the middle, and the east covered by the coastal plains.
North Carolina is incredibly diverse, ethnically and economically speaking, which makes it a great place to call home.
And that’s before you consider the high quality of life prevalent across the state, with job opportunities aplenty.
The famous Research Triangle Park, an area traversing Durham, Raleigh and Chapel Hill, is a big contributor of many jobs.
More than 200 companies are based here, including the likes of RTI International, IBM, Cisco, Johnson & Johnson, Syngenta and GlaxoSmithKline.
The Old North State also has some of the best colleges in America, with Duke ranking among the top five schools in the country.
Other notable options include the University of North Carolina (the oldest university in the United States) and Elon University.
Throw in a booming art and culture scene, an incredibly pleasant people, and a warm and hospitable southern charm,
and it’s easy to see why North Carolina lives up to its motto which means “to be rather than to seem”.
From the coast to the mountains, North Carolina has charm to spare. That’s undeniable. In the Tar Heel State, there are so many great small towns—far too many to count—so
choosing our favorites is a monumentally challenging task.
If you are looking for a nice place to settle down, here are the 10 best places to live in North Carolina you definitely need to think about.
These spots are prime destinations for making memories.

We visit (the very windy) Panorama Point, the rooftop of Nebraska. Located on the High Point Bison Ranch in Kimball County, the highest point in Nebraska has an elevation over a mile high at 5,429 feet. The high point lies near one of the great transcontinental transportation corridors of the US, the Great Platte River Road, which has had travelers from the Oregon Trail, the Transcontinental Railroad, the Lincoln Highway, and now Interstate 80. Join us as we explore America and go highpointing!

Where you should go in WYOMING!
This is Wyoming with a tiny slice of South Dakota. This was filmed during a week long Amazing Race style visit around Wyoming. We stayed in cabins, rode horses, rode four wheelers, visited Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, Jackson Hole, Devil's Tower, Crazy Woman Canyon and Mt. Rushmore. It was an incredible trip and I hope that this video showcases how beautiful this state really is!
All footage was filmed on a Sony A6000, Samsung Galaxy S6, and GoPro HD Hero 5 Black (Karma Drone and Grip)

Historic South Pass City and Carissa Mine – A Wyoming Ghost Town – near Lander, Wyoming
Historic South Pass City and Carissa Mine – A Wyoming Ghost Town – near Lander, Wyoming.
South Pass City sprang up when gold was discovered in the area in 1866. Up to three thousand people called this town home in the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming, approximately 35 miles south of Lander.
Unfortunately, major gold deposits were never found and by the mid 1870’s the town dwindled to just 100 people. Over the next century the town declined further until the last pioneer family moved in 1949. The town fell into disrepair until the end of the 20th century when efforts were taken to renew the community.
The Carissa Mine was the primary economic engine for South Pass City. In 1928 new money helped build a modern mill and support buildings but the precious metals were exhausted in a couple of decades. The gold mine and mill closed permanently in 1949.
The Friends of South Pass is a non-profit committed to preserving the rich history of South Pass City. They preserved more than 30 structures and the town is listed on the National Register of Historical Places.
The Friends of South Pass volunteer, host events & support the historic site financially, making sure South Pass City’s future is bright. An informative website is only a click away:
