The monument preserves the homes and territory of the Ancestral Puebloans of a later era in the Southwest. Most of the pueblo structures date to two eras, dating between 1150 and 1600 AD. The Monument is 50 square miles of the Pajarito Plateau, on the slopes of the Jemez Volcanic field in the Jemez Mountains. Over 70% of the Monument is wilderness, with over one mile elevation change, from about 5,000 feet along the Rio Grande to over 10,000 feet at the peak of Cerro Grande on the rim of the Valles Caldera, providing for a wide range of life zones and wildlife habitats. He succeeded Robert Oppenheimer, who personally chose Bradbury for the position of director after working closely with him on the Manhattan Project during World War II. Scenic New Mexico Highways

Here is a video of two highways that offer scenic views of the New Mexico high desert mesa terrain. The first highway is called the Wagon Mound Highway, route 120 that runs from Wagon Mound to Roy. Turning south at Roy towards Logan, the second segment begins just east of Mosquero as the road drops off of the vast mesa into the valley below. It hard to think of this area as mountainous but the elevation at Wagon Mound is over 6300 ft, so it is actually higher than Denver by a thousand feet. I used my old Sony HX1 mounted to a tripod on the passenger side to shoot this. There's a little shake sometimes, but I'll be happy to look back at it and remember the trip. Thanks for watching.

Today we explore Albuquerque, New Mexico. Being a Breaking Bad fan I started my day by visiting some of the show's locations, including Twister's also known as Los Pollos Hermanos, Walter Whites house, the Car Wash, and Hank's home. Then I went to Old Town, had lunch at the oldest house Church Street Cafe. Then I visited the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History, and finally took a ride on the Sandia Peak Tramway.
