Ofterschwang is a municipality in southern Germany, in Oberallgäu, Bavaria. It is a professional winter sports venue, regularly used for World Cup alpine events.Ofterschwang is also famous for skiing and other kinds of sport. Traditionally the area is agricultural. The town has a church with a World War II memorial as well as small chapels. Tourism has become a major trade in the region with skiing in the winter, and hiking, mountain biking, parachute flying, and other mountain sports in the summer. Also popular with tourists in Ofterschwang is the Dorfsabend, or village evening, with traditional Bavarian costume, dance, food, and beer.

  • 1. Breitachklamm Tiefenbach
    The Breitachklamm is a gorge created by the river Breitach in the Allgäu region in Southern Germany. It is located at the exit of the Kleinwalsertal near Tiefenbach, a city district of Oberstdorf. It is one of the deepest gorges of the Bavarian Alps and the deepest rocky gorge of Central Europe. Every year around 300.000 visitors walk the 2.5 km long path through the gorge. The upper entrance of the Breitachklamm is located near the Walserschanz in Austria, with limited parking space, whereas the lower one in Oberstdorf-Tiefenbach offers a visitor center and ample parking.
