Pembroke is a town in the Northern Region of Malta, and it is considered to be the country's newest town. To the east is Paceville, the nightlife district of Malta. The coastal town and tourist hub of St. Julian's lies to the southeast, and the residential area of Swieqi lies to the south. The hilltop village of Madliena is to its west, and Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq lies to the northwest. Pembroke covers an area of 2.3 km². The area hugs a coastal zone with a rocky beach. 1. Mdina Old City Mdina
Mdina , also known by its titles Città Vecchia or Città Notabile, is a fortified city in the Northern Region of Malta, which served as the island's capital from antiquity to the medieval period. The city is still confined within its walls, and has a population of just under 300, but it is contiguous with the town of Rabat, which takes its name from the Arabic word for suburb, and has a population of over 11,000 .The city was founded as Maleth in around the 8th century BC by Phoenician settlers, and was later renamed Melite by the Romans. Ancient Melite was larger than present-day Mdina, and it was reduced to its present size during the Byzantine or Arab occupation of Malta. Learning about Malta

We spent a long weekend touring and enjoying the beautiful island of Malta in the Mediterranean. We learned a lot about this island that, frankly, we knew little about before booking our holiday.

I bildspelet kan du se platser och Malta sevärdheter som Sliema, Baluta Bay, Gzira, San Anton Garden och St Pauls samt Gozo. Jag bor på Malta sedan 2015 och har fotograferat lite här och var på öarna. Saker att se och göra på Malta som jag själv gillar är speciellt stränderna och byarna på Gozo men även affärerna och barerna i Sliema och St Julians.

Jag har egentligen inte så mycket att berätta om Malta sevärdheter förutom att jag lyckats ta mig till några kända platser. Vi har som sagt varit på San Anton Gardens ett par gånger och Marsaxlokks fiskmarknad samt besökt Valletta med sina fina gator ett par gånger. En gång hyrde vi bil och såg flera ställen på en dag. Då såg vi fina platser som Blue Grotto och de gamla templen i Hagar Qim. Ofta är det varmt och soligt på Malta så det kan bli hett om man ska se mycket på en gång. Saker att göra på Malta är egentligen mest att äta mycket och dricka mycket till riktigt bra priser jämfört med i Sverige. Testa Pazztizi och pizzor och pastor - man får alltid mycket mat på Malta.

Se de magiska balkongerna i Sliema, promenera på The Strand i Gzira och bada på Ramla på Gozo. Shoppa i Valletta och dansa i Paceville. Ja, det finns mycket att se och göra på lilla Malta. Något som man heller inte bör glömma att göra är att se ängarna i Pembroke eller bara kika på havet mot Sicilien och se på alla vackra fåglar och båtar.

Marsa junction project Part 1, MALTA

The main objective of the proposed infrastructural project is to improve the traffic flow at this strategic location which represents one of the major traffic hubs in Malta. Works will include the construction of a three-grade separated junction, the demolition of factories overlooking Triq il-Labour, the shifting of existing carriageways and the upgrading of existing road infrastructure together with the provision of a Park and Ride facility, street furniture and landscaping. The proposal also includes the implementation of a system of bridges that link Marsa, Paola, Tarxien and Luqa which are served by arterial roads.

Trekking the length of the Victoria Lines

The Victoria Lines - Malta
A defensive wall and military installations built along the Great Fault from Kuncizzjoni in the west to Madliena in the east, commemorated during Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee year - 1897. The defenses include four formidable forts and a number of entrenchments. Running, as it does, mainly on high ground in the countryside atop escarpments and across ravines, the Victoria Lines afford a veritable playground to ramblers, historians and military enthusiasts.
