Queenstown is a resort town in Otago in the south-west of New Zealand's South Island. It has an urban population of 15,850 , making it the 27th largest urban area in New Zealand. In 2016, Queenstown overtook Oamaru to become the second largest urban area in Otago, behind Dunedin. The town is built around an inlet called Queenstown Bay on Lake Wakatipu, a long thin Z-shaped lake formed by glacial processes, and has views of nearby mountains such as The Remarkables, Cecil Peak, Walter Peak and just above the town, Ben Lomond and Queenstown Hill.   • 1. Air Milford Queenstown
    Glenorchy Air is a scenic flight and air charter company based at Queenstown Airport, New Zealand. The company is owned by Janet and Robert Rutherford who founded it in 1992. The company was started with just one aeroplane, a Cessna 185. With the expansion of the business, a second aircraft, a Piper Cherokee Six 300, was purchased in 1996. The Cessna 185 was sold in 2003 when it was replaced by a brand new Gippsland Aeronautics GA8 Airvan. The company took delivery of a second Airvan in 2013 and a third replaced the Cherokee 6 in 2015. In 2017 the company purchased a fourth GA8 taking the fleet number to 5 including their Cessna 172 .

    Glenorchy is a small settlement at the northern end of Lake Wakatipu in the South Island region of Otago, New Zealand. It is approximately 45 km by road or boat from Queenstown, the nearest large town. There are two pubs, a café and a range of small shops in the town catering mainly to tourists but also to the small resident population. There is also a small airstrip which caters to small planes. The Dart River and Rees River flow into the head of Lake Wakatipu next to Glenorchy.
