Croatia Travel Guide
Shepherd Entertainment takes you on a tour of Rabac, a Croatian village and a large resort town on Kvarner Bay. Long a small
fishing port of just three dozen homes, Rabac has grown in recent years into a resort town with numerous villas and apartment buildings.
Rabac, the busy tourist paradise can be approached through the city of Labin built on a mountain. New hotels and villas are being built at an amazing pace on the limestone hills overgrown with evergreens. The bay is equally popular with sailors, surfers, water skiers and swimmers. From its promenade and from the terraces of its restaurants, we can enjoy the sight of white boats swerving on the emerald green water. On its beaches, thousands of tourists enjoy the sunshine and the caressing water of the Adriatic. It's good to know that the small catsharks living here are harmless to humans. However, because of sea urchins, wearing plastic sandals is recommended. In the clear water, we can see a crowd of sea animals.
We can take diving goggles along but it's also possible to buy them on the spot. Those who would like to dive deeper can participate in diving training programs or tours of the bigger coastal cities. Individual divers are given a permit by the harbor authorities. It's also possible to rent or buy equipment. On the beaches, topless sunbathing is allowed and there are also a lot of nudist beaches which are separate from the others.

BELLEVUE RESORT - TUI FAMILY LIFE - A WALK THROUGH
A QUICK WALK THROUGH THE BELLEVUE RESORT TUI FAMILY LIFE HOTEL IN RABAC, CROATIA. THIS SHOULD GIVE YOU A GOOD IDEA OF WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU GET THERE. SEE REVIEW BELOW.
This is a very well presented hotel, very clean and tidy and in a great location. Overall, I really enjoyed the hotel and surrounding areas.
We booked this holiday for mid September and although we had 2 rainy and windy days, the rest of our week was beautiful sunshine. We were there for a chill out week so we did not do any tours we just stayed within the hotel grounds and walks along the promenade mainly to venture in to the town to do a bit of shopping and eating out. The town is a really nice walk along the shore front which takes about 15 - 20 minutes.
We did all inclusive and all drinks were fine for me. My wife was drinking G&T and this is a bit odd, it is poured already mixed and then what I think is sweetener added. She didn't really take to this and ended up drinking Vodka & coke.
All meals are served buffet style and there is always something there to suit most people, but a bit ordinary and predictable. It is because of the food served that I have not given it 5 stars. We were clearly getting near the end of the season so choices were limited, but numerous times they would run out of some items which was frustrating. They even ran out of butter one day. The soup was a bit of a hit or miss, 4 times I looked at their minestrone and it looked totally different each time I looked, I don't know if they just forgot to change the ID label. The selection of sweets were very limited or repetitive. They can make a great pizza though, and the live food station is worth the trying when they are doing some Chinese dishes. As part of the All Inclusive, you are allowed one visit to the Taverna without charge. We were lucky enough to go to it on our last night and we weren't disappointed. You should try and book this as soon as possible as there are limited places.
Our room was excellent, with a daily cleaning service, 2 balconies and a great sea view. Room number 4205 is a great spot right in the centre of the resort and handy for everything, I would recommend.
The service at the bars was, in the main, really good, but if there was a paying guest waiting to be served then you were blatantly overlooked in their favour. This I had to point out at the wine bar a couple of times.
All areas throughout the resort were kept in a clean condition and had a nice bright modern appearance. Public toilet facilities were also kept very clean and stocked up.
There are 3 pools, one for the kiddies, one for the games and one for you to relax at and have some quiet time. All pools were kept clean and clear. We had no issues trying to get a sun bed but I would expect at peak season this would be a bit more difficult.
All staff were very attentive and helpful and there seemed to be a good level of staff in all the areas we went to.
We didn't attend the entertainment building so I can't comment on that. Most nights we would go to the Wine Bar and there was a live duo playing which created a nice relaxing atmosphere.
I think at peak season time it would not be the place for me as I think it would be ridiculously busy, but out of peak I would definitely consider going back to this hotel as the location and scenery are lovely, and the service isn't too shabby either.
