5 Top-Rated Ski Resorts in Austria, 2017
More casual and laid-back than the glitzy resorts of France and Switzerland, Austria's ski scene exudes an old-world charm, with trail and lift networks linking small Alpine villages surrounded by spectacular snow-covered peaks. From most of these cozy villages, you can ski all day without ever repeating a run, whatever your level of experience, for Austrian terrain ranges from some of the world's steepest runs to gentle slopes and trails perfect for learners and youngsters. But what has boosted Austria's popularity with international skiers in the past few years is its value for money. Holiday packages, lift passes, lodging, dining, ski schools, and even après-ski activities cost less here than in the French or Swiss Alps, and you're sure of warm hospitality and high service standards, as well as sophisticated lifts and snow maintenance. Austrian skiing is also not limited to winter - glaciers provide year-round snow, and most ski resorts are only an hour's drive from Innsbruck, Salzburg, or Munich international airports. Here, five ski Resorts in Austria.
1. Kitzbühel
2. Innsbruck
3. St. Anton am Arlberg
4. Lech-Zürs am Arlberg
5. Saalbach-Hinterglemm

Summer in Saalbach Hinterglemm 2018 | Austria Vlog (& last vlog on the Canon G7X mark ii!)
Join me as I explore Saalbach Hinterglemm in Austria on a little solo trip. This is my last Europe vlog... and my last travel vlog on the Canon G7X mark ii, so it's kind of the end of an era.
I ended my crazy two month trip to Europe with a few days in the Austrian Alpine resort of Saalbach Hinterglemm. Saalbach Hinterglemm is a popular ski resort in Austria, but it turns out there's a lot to do there in summer too.
In this travel vlog, I get up early for sunrise hike before heading straight back up the mountain - to jump off it. It's my second time paragliding and paragliding in Austria is a completely different experience to my time paragliding in Turkey. It's such a great way to see the Saalbach mountains and appreciate just how impressive they are.
After paragliding, I went to visit the Golden Gate Bridge, Hochseilpark (High Rope Park) and the Treetop Trail. Then, the following day, I went mountain biking in Hinterglemm.
As I mentioned, this is also my last travel vlog on the Canon G7X Mark ii! It's been a fantastic vlogging camera and I wasn't expecting to replace it when I filmed this video, but I have my reasons. I'll explain more in the next video, so I hope to see you there! As always, thanks for watching and joining me in Saalbach, and on this crazy trip around Europe :)

Traveling Through Austria
Traveling Through Austria on they way to our skiing holiday.
A Day in Lively and Beautiful Zell am See, Austria - Part I
Zell am See is only a 30 minute Post Bus ride from Saalbach-Hinterglemm. The Bus stops right across from the Bahnhof (train station) and everything is within walking distance. Since the weather was supposed to be in the high 90s Fahrenheit, we decided to spend the day in this drop-dead beautiful town. Marine Steve spent a week in Zell am See in 1987; time to return and see what's been going on over the last 26 years.
It would take a magician to conjure up a more spectacular setting than Zell am See on the shore of turquoise Zeller Lake, or Lake Zell, surrounded by forested mountains and covered with Alpine pastures. People stand along the lake, snapping a gazillion photos, while saying, Have you ever seen anything more sublime? I must have repeated different versions of that line every few minutes as we walked the pedestrian path circling the lake.
Part II tomorrow will take you through Zell am See center...
